I have a doubt regarding admission and fee remission in NITs.
My income certificate mentions my family's annual income as ₹48,000, but the actual income is around ₹1.4 lakh (salary). I didn't notice this discrepancy earlier.
During admission, does the institute verify the income certificate with PAN, ITR, salary slips, or any other documents? Has anyone here experienced such verification at an NIT?
If the income certificate is incorrect, is it better to get a new one before reporting?
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through the admission process.

Should I actually be happy, or am I just emotionally drained after JEE and counselling? I know it's a solid branch, but I don't really feel much.
Also... is NIT Srinagar CSE actually considered a flex, or am I underestimating it? 😭
