Old boy issues... inevitable decision

Our 12 YO rescue which we've had for 6 years is starting to show his age. Besides being completely deaf, he had a stroke 2 years ago and constantly drools from one side of his mouth and has not been able to control his bowel movements since. Lately he's started urinating on the way to the door which adds to the clean-ups we're already doing several times a day. He's lost most of the strength in his back legs and hesitates to lie down, which we think is because he's in pain (he's on 2X/day pain-killers). He's no longer playful and spends most of the day sleeping, but does know when it's time for our daily walks and is still very food motivated. It's obvious that he'll continue to deteriorate and we want to give him the best life during his remaining time, but we're wondering how will we know when it's time to let him go?

Vic Mellor says “Rhode Island First” but is a registered foreign agent of communist Cuba.

Typical GOP behavior... "do as I say, not as I do." I don't think I'll ever vote for another Republican in my life.

Narrow River question

People who boat or kayak in the Narrow River in Narragansett: please help me understand the tides. We kayaked down to the mouth of the river this morning and hung out on the beach for awhile, waiting for the tide to switch to get an easy paddle back up the river. The tide chart showed Low Tide was 1:49pm at the pier, but at 4pm the current was still coming out of the river into the ocean. I would have thought the current would be going in the other direction since it was more than 2 hours after Low Tide?

My 1st time to Prudence Island... removed 24 ticks

Rode mountain bikes from end to end and really enjoyed the quiet and beautiful landscape. Mostly stayed on the dirt roads but some of the roads on the north end were overgrown with knee-high grass, so we knew we'd get a few ticks. I didn't expect to find that many! Also the mosquitoes were unbearable in the north as well

Failed state inspection for brake pad wear... what should I do?

State law requires 1/16" minimum, clearly these have quite a bit more than that. Not the first time this has happened to me (15 years ago at a dealer, Firestone this time). This really upsets me because most people will just say 'OK, fix it... I need my car'. Quoted $1200 for both axles. Other than filing a report with the state, what else can I do?

Elvis drove this car in the movie "Blue Hawaii" and enjoyed it so much that he bought it and kept it at his Graceland residence in Memphis, Tennessee. The car is the only machine owned by the legendary musician to also appear in one of his films.
