FTM here with a 5 month old LO. We live in a DC suburb and go out for walks daily, so we decided on the Cruz before LO was born as we kept hearing about how sturdy it was and how well it handled. Fast forward 5 months, I am so disappointed by this stroller. I am not sure if something is wrong with my suspension, but it really doesn’t push well. LO feels every single bump, it feels super stiff and it rattles when moving. It literally crashes into little bumps on the sidewalk instead of running over them. To be fair, our sidewalks aren’t super smooth, but I’m not taking it hiking or anything, we’re literally just walking around the neighborhood. I reached out to customer service with an explanation and a couple videos but they said it looks normal. This can’t be the amazing suspension that everyone has been talking about online 😭 I have been thinking of selling it and getting a Fox or Kangaroo at this point. Has anyone had a similar experience? Did I just have unrealistic expectations?
I’ve been a long time lurker in this community and it’s helped me so much with my baby’s sleep. Thank you in advance to anyone who has any advice / experience with this and is willing to share!
Baby is 20 weeks old, sleep trained with a gradual, modified sleep wave approach. He usually sleeps through the night with a dream feed at 5am (mostly done for my relief as we EBF and I haven’t night weaned yet). Current schedule is roughly 1.75 / 1.75 / 1.75 / 2 / 2.5. So he currently has around 14 hours of sleep and around 10 hours of awake time, with around 3.5 hours of naps during the day. He connects sleep cycles during the day and can take longer naps. Wake time is 7am, bedtime is 8:30pm. I’ve been wanting to transition him to 3 naps and move his bedtime earlier but it seems impossible right now. I think he’s high sleep needs and needs more sleep time than I’m giving him. I have to wake him from every nap, he’d sleep way longer if I let him. I also have to wake him up every morning, he’d also sleep longer if I let him. He always seems slightly overtired after his 2.5 final ww as he’s usually a little upset when being put to sleep and cries for 10ish mins before falling asleep.
My problem is, if i want to push his bedtime to 8pm to give him more night sleep, I end up with either extremely short wake windows and 4 naps OR extremely long wake windows and 3 naps. I feel stuck in my current schedule and not sure how to get out of it without severely overtiring my baby by extending wake windows or forcing him to nap before he’s ready. I’ve read some people advise to slowly increase wake windows by 5-15 mins every day, but HOW? That leaves me with a messy daily schedule and a crap cat nap before bedtime and either an overtired or undertired baby. HELP 😭
