sleepypod automation preview

lots of people have been asking me for some type of autopilot. instead of trying to build a generalized system for everybody i've landed on a simple automation framework that exposes sensor data so you can build your own.

i need to clean up the ui a bit more and take a simplification pass, but im excited with the general direction. one thing i'd like to do is add an AI prompt that exposes the framework and available inputs so you can have claude/chatgpt/gem write the automation. i already do this on the sleep curve and have been happy with it.

would love to hear any feedback. if you want to test it out, the code is on the dev branch https://github.com/sleepypod/core

i updated my caltrain app to alert when there is a giants game so you can better plan your commute

after standing from all the way home i realized it would be helpful to know when there were home games. also added a small fyi that i am at the mercy of caltrain's data stream, so the live train representation are best effort.

sleepypod is generally available: a modern, local first pod control with support for HomeKit Home Assistant (via MQTT)

imagine a world where you could control your bed without paying a monthly subscription? what a crazy idea!

the project originally started as a stand alone pod server replacement with basic temp control. but it's evolved over time. now, my intent is an open api that any consumer can call. currently, i have a physical dial and iOS app that all work with the server.

while it does have some basic biometrics support, over time i realized the only things i was used was temp control. after setting up a schedule, i rarely adjust temps at all.

i will continue to look into biometrics support, but there is so much variations between the pod hardware and capabilities i have to lean heavily on other users who are interested in moving the project forward.

i really wish orion would open up their api, i'd buy in a heartbeat!
