Transitioning an established, multiunit restaurant group to Toast. What do you wish you’d known?
We’re preparing to transition to Toast across an established, multiunit restaurant group, and I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through a similar rollout.
Our teams have years of experience with our current systems (Aloha), so I’m especially interested in the operational challenges and how you helped people adjust.
A few things I’m curious about:
What were the biggest surprises or challenges during the transition?
How did you train managers and team members? Did they have a way to practice before going live?
What issues came up during peak hours that didn’t show up in testing?
For multiunit operators, what did you learn from your first locations that changed how you rolled out the rest?
Looking back, what would you do differently?
Would appreciate any real-world experiences, whether the transition went smoothly or had some bumps. What do you wish someone had told you before you started?
