Would I competitive enough for REU for 2027 summer?

Im a rising junior in biochemistry at a R1 state school and i have above a 3.7 gpa

During the school year I do sensing organic synthesis research since freshmen an year

The past 2 summers I’ve done research at a speciality research hospital

I’ve been on two publications. One was with the sensing lab and another was independent health project.

I’m mostly going to be going for ones that are bio related.

Hope this is enough info

Don’t know what internships to target next summer

Hi.
I’m a rising junior in biochemistry. The past 2 summers, I’ve done academic research at a specialty research hospital. During the school year, I also do more research for sensing.

I’d like to apply to grad school(masters w/thesis) and either a md or PhD afterwards.

Would it make sense to do another academic research summer or should I try aiming for a biotech internship?

Thanks

Laser sailboat has soft spots in either side of cracks. How should I repair?

The hull flexes a decent amount around the crack. We re fiberglassed after we first noticed the crack and didn’t bother with soft spot, but the crack formed again.

How should we fix the soft spot? Drill holes and do the marine epoxy into them or replace the core in that area?

This is all new to me

How to go about fixing soft spot and leaky crack on laser?

Should I just do the fiberglassing and hope that is enough? Should I go ahead and fix the soft spots, if so what would be the best method to do so?

Question about request for additional information

Does a request from the IRCC about needing additional information mean they are starting to process the application. I received my AOR would the end of April, would this mean they’re starting to actually look into. I replied and sent over what they wanted, but could this mean a decision might be soon ish?

Applied with my 2 brothers, but can only track one name?

Hi,
I applied with both my younger brothers(both teenagers) and I’m a young adult I guess if it matters).

When we received the AORs, I was only able to access my record, if I change the birth date to one of my brothers- nothing shows up and says they aren’t there, which doesn’t make sense. Is this going to be an issue? I wouldn’t think so since we got the AOR, but I don’t know.

Looking into buying a canoe

The green canoe is a 2000 Old Town Discovery 158 and is listed for $450. The red canoe is zero unless you want a 1.5HP motor

I want to just do it for fun and maybe canoe camp.

I’ve used both old town and esquif canoes and have liked them.
Thanks

Wilderness backpacking:

What’s your primary source of navigation? When I did Boy Scouts, we used to use map and compass, but I want to move away from that. Phone gps has been good(all trails), but the phone battery doesn’t last long. Is a garmin gps device worth it? I’ve been looking at etrex30. If it matters, I’ll mostly be in the white or Adirondack mountains
