Square Tabs / Gift Cards

We run an events business (in Australia) and people pre-pay bar tabs. Is there a way to run the tabs/tickets down? So start at $5k and run down? Not up like the current ticket?

We were getting around it by uploading to physical gift cards and swiping the cards, but with the new customer register - there is no where to swipe cards?!

Help!
Thank you! 🙏🏼

When someone does a hit and run to your car on Mothers Day in Applecross 😢

Honestly, do better as a human.

I’ve spent 18 years in the wedding and events industry. Ask me anything about weddings and events, or just say hi!

Hey legends!

I’ll be honest...starting a "business" presence on Reddit is a little intimidating because I know how much this community values authenticity. I’m not here to spam you, I want to try and educate, help and direct people on how to have authentic, intimate events that don't follow traditions!

Night Owl Studio is a blank-canvas warehouse designed for people who want to do things a bit differently. We’ve got moody velvet curtains, polished concrete, and a full plug-and-play sound/lighting system.

The best part? It’s completely BYO. You bring the drinks and the food trucks; we provide the vibe and the clean-up.

I'm not here to spam, just wanted to let the locals know there's a new spot for micro-weddings, 30ths, or just loud-as-hell gigs that won't break the bank.

If you’re a local creative or looking for a space, come say hi or AMA about running a venue in WA!

We’re Chiara and Matt - the unapologetic dreamers, doers, and Night Owls who brought this Morley warehouse to life.

Night Owl Studio started as a wild idea:

“What if we could build a space where creativity runs rampant, weddings don’t suck, and music always has a home?”

So, we rolled up our sleeves, swept out the cobwebs, and turned a gritty old pet food manufacturing warehouse (yup, that’s what was here before we were!) into the playground for rebels, lovers, and loud thinkers.

We’re not your typical venue owners. One’s a live-wire muso who thrives after dark. The other’s a daylight dweller with a soft spot for structure, sleep, and a good Netflix watchlist. Together, we’re the team making sure Night Owl stays as far from boring as possible.

Why we do it?

Because we were tired of the same-old. We wanted a space where people could celebrate on their own terms.

What we believe:

  • Magic happens after dark.
  • Rules are meant to be rewritten.
  • Events should feel like you, not a Pinterest board.

So whether you’re here to get hitched, raise hell, or birth something bold - we’re here for the chaos, the confetti, and the stuff your guests will still be talking about in ten years.

What we’re really about: Throwing wild, flawless events that don’t play by the rules.

What people say about us: Gritty grinders with a killer work ethic and zero patience for boring.

When we’re off the clock: You’ll catch us at the local watering hole with our dog by our side, tearing into cold beers, demolishing plates of food, and soaking up whatever sunshine we can steal before the night calls us back.

What fuels us: Building a no-judgment zone for artists, misfits, and party people who want to flip Perth’s event scene upside down. Balancing the madness of work with living loud, making unforgettable memories and having a hell of a good time while we’re at it.

I’m still figuring out what kind of content you’d find most useful. If you have a second, let me know: What’s one thing about the wedding and events industry that has always confused or annoyed you?

Looking forward to hanging out here!

Chiara :) x
