Do Monad projects need better visual storytelling?

I've been looking through the Monad ecosystem recently, and one thing I'm curious about is how projects communicate what they're building to people who aren't already deep into crypto.

Monad has a growing mix of DeFi, infrastructure, gaming, AI, NFT, SocialFi and other projects.

But the more complicated a project becomes, the harder it can be to explain it simply.

A founder might understand their protocol completely, but a new user may still be thinking:

“Okay... but what does this actually do?” 😂

I've been exploring this problem myself through 2D animation and visual storytelling for Web3, and I've found that animation can be particularly useful for explaining things like:

• How a protocol works
• Complex transaction flows
• Token utility
• Game mechanics
• User onboarding
• What makes a project different
• A project's overall concept

I'm wondering how Monad builders here approach this.

Do you think visual storytelling is currently underused in the Monad ecosystem?

And if you're building on Monad:

What's the hardest part of your project to explain to someone seeing it for the first time?

I'm especially interested in hearing from builders who have already launched something, rather than just ideas.

Your blockchain startup might have a great product, but can people actually understand it?

Something I've been thinking about lately while working on creative projects for Web3:

A lot of blockchain startups are building genuinely interesting things, but explaining those products to someone who isn't already familiar with crypto can be extremely difficult.

A technical explanation might make sense to a developer, but the average user probably doesn't want to read through documentation just to understand what a project actually does.

That's where I think visual communication becomes really important.

A short animation, product walkthrough, character animation, explainer, or even a simple visual metaphor can sometimes communicate an idea much faster than a wall of text.

I've been exploring this through Nimia, where we've been experimenting with 2D frame-by-frame animation for Web3 projects.

But I'm curious about the founder side of this.

What's the hardest part of your blockchain project to explain visually?

Is it:

• Explaining the actual product
• Protocol mechanics
• Token utility
• A complicated user flow
• A game mechanic
• Your project's concept/vision
• Or simply making people understand why the project exists?

Would love to hear what other founders are struggling with here.

Maybe there's a bigger problem with visual communication in Web3 that I'm overlooking.

Building a Solana project?

You can have a great idea, but if the presentation doesn't catch people's attention, it's easy to get overlooked.

That's what we work on at Nimia Studio.

We create custom creative content for projects that want to look more professional, memorable, and exciting from character animations and trailers to memes and social content.

He thought he found a girl… 💀

Bro was feeling confident until the plot twist 💀

A funny 2D animation we made at Nimia Studio.

He sees someone mysterious from behind, gets a little flirty… then realizes he completely misread the situation.

The panic and the chase at the end 😂

Made this one just for fun. Hope you enjoy it!

What makes a studio animation portfolio feel professional to recruiters?

For those who have experience reviewing animation portfolios or hiring animators, what are the things that make a portfolio immediately feel professional?

I'm particularly curious about how you evaluate:

• Variety vs specialization
• Number of projects
• Showing personal work vs client work
• How much context should be provided for each project
• Overall presentation and organization

I'd love to hear what tends to make a portfolio stand out from a hiring perspective.
