I’m trying to understand what separates a design that looks good on screen from one that works well on an actual T-shirt.
What do you check before sending artwork to print?
- Small text readability
- Contrast on light and dark garments
- Line thickness
- Negative space
- Number of colors
- Visibility from a normal viewing distance
Do you have a simple pre-print checklist that you follow?
The displayed temperature and the actual surface temperature may not always tell the whole story. How do you check for hot or cold spots, and how often do you verify your press?
I’d also be interested in how people document pressure and dwell time when testing a new transfer or garment.
I’m putting together a troubleshooting checklist for small apparel businesses. In your experience, which variable affects wash durability most:
• pressure,
• actual platen temperature,
• dwell time,
• peel timing,
• repressing,
• garment blend,
• wash and dry method?
I’m especially interested in repeatable testing methods rather than one-off results.
