What budget DTF printers are good

Hey all I'm just wondering what is like the cheapest but good DTF printers out there as I want it just for my own use to print onto my own t-shirts etc and jumpers for my own use and I don't want to pay like 2000 or 8000 just for that if I'm just gonna be doing logos and prints just for my own use as it's not gonna be for a business

Just wondering has anyone done the same thing as I want to do and what is the sort of cheapest but worth it DTF printer thanks

Don’t know how to fix

I bought a dtf printer and don’t what what causes this doting and black ink spitting also why blue and white ink doesn’t come out, when I tested it before buying everything was good, only thing i did myself was cleaning the head.

My dtf presses keep wrinkling in the dryer. I'm drying them on purpose to test what happens if a customer dose it. I get about 2 washes before it starts, by 5 the shirt looks 10 years old and peeling. Press runs a bit hot and maybe pressing too long? From dtf dallas.

DTF Gang Sheet Builder with better pricing and New features

Genuine question for those of you using Drip or similar gang sheet builders - Does the 5% commission ever bug you or have you just accepted it as cost of doing business?

I'm a DTF printer and i noticed that commission has been eating into your margins on every order. Got to a point where I wanted to make a gang sheet builder that doesn't work on a commission model at all. So been working on it for few months and finally made it.

It runs on credits instead which works out to less than 1% of your per-sheet price. That's over 80% savings compared to what most of us are paying right now.

A few things it does that I think you'll appreciate:

  1. Packs your images onto the sheet as efficiently as possible, no wasted space

  2. Background remover built right in with color selector option.

  3. Color replacement and tuning

  4. Text and number addition with 100+ fonts

  5. No fixed sheet length limits. It's a rolling gang sheet means your sheet grows with however many designs you drop in. No capping you at 80 or 100 or 120 inches

Halftone feature and image enhancer are coming within a week.

I'm keeping this small intentionally and want to work with 5-10 printers closely, take feature requests seriously, and handle migration for you personally.

You don't have to commit to anything either. Try it free, run it for a handful of customers alongside your current setup, and only switch when you're sure it fits your workflow.

Drop a comment or DM if you want a trial link. Happy to walk you through it.

Has anyone tried printing DTF transfers on a roll and cutting them with a vinyl cutter instead of scissors?

I've been thinking about upgrading my gang sheet cutting process because hand-cutting with scissors is eating up time on high-volume days and I'm getting inconsistent edges on detailed designs. I know some setups use automated cutters but I'm curious if a standard vinyl cutter can handle DTF film without destroying it or causing edge lifting. Would love to hear from anyone who's actually tried this rather than just theoretical answers.

My DTF prints look amazing fresh off the press but dull after one wash, what's actually happening?

This specific issue trips up a lot of people because the print looks perfect during QC and then the first customer wash reveals something totally different. It's not always an obvious failure either the colors just lose that pop and the transfer looks older than it should after a single cycle. Figured this was worth a real conversation because the usual advice of 'check your settings' doesn't actually get at what's going on.

New to getting raster files press ready

Not only am I 2 weeks into this graphic design job but the company I work for has previously only ever send raster images off to be vectorised before printing.

Trying to change this as I believe that in image situations half-toning creates a better result. We are currently struggling with adhesion though.

PS bit map half tone setting used on this test image are: 37.5 lpi, 23.5 angle, round half tones. Should be well within the range of our printer to print.

My question is, is this a file issue where I should re-halftone the image to a lower lpi, or is this a printer/printhead issue/printer settings issue?

Shipping rates are getting crazy. How’s everyone handling it?

Feels like Etsy sellers, POD shops, and DTF stores all got hit hard this year with USPS and Amazon shipping increases.

Honestly feels like local pickup, bundle orders, and gang sheets matter more than ever now.

Curious how everyone else is handling it. Raising prices or just eating the extra cost?

Best budget hat press recommendations?

Hi looking at some budget friendly options for a hat press. Do you have one you’d reccomend? This isn’t a business just a hobby for me so don’t want to make a large investment. Thoughts on the Vevor press?

Also what’s your favorite hat style/brand to press? Any and all recommendations are welcome.

Help!! Can someone design what’s in my brain that spits out an ai and make it look good?!

Question: Does anyone know if I could send someone an idea for a shirt design (could be a rough picture from ai 😬) but they can make it look better (does not have to be exact). And send me a png that I can get printed to put on shirts? Is that a thing?

If you don’t is there a good place for me to design a shirt because I am not creative nor can I draw.

Procolored is Awful so far

I bought a Procolored K13 Lite for my business and it had a dead printhead on arrival. It took procolored 10 hours of troubleshooting to be ok with sending me one. I used up 750mL of ink (3 small bottle) in the interim and they refuse to send me more than 1 white ink bottle because I (should have only used 12%) I'm at a loss with them. I'm going to end up opening a Better Business Bureau complaint and might have to get the bank involved to dispute some costs of the printer and ink. Anyone else have experience with them?

How do you handle rush orders without sacrificing print quality in a DTF shop?

Rush orders are a reality in any custom print business and while they're great for revenue they can also be the source of your worst quality mistakes if you're cutting corners under time pressure. The DTF process has several stages printing, curing, pressing each of which needs adequate time to produce a reliable result, and skipping or rushing any of them creates predictable failure points. Building a rush workflow that maintains your quality standard while still delivering fast is something every growing shop needs to figure out.

Xtool Pinholes Problem. Please help!

Hey guys,

Finally decided to get the Xtool DTF Printer together with their oven shaker. This thing is printing fast and is easy to handle, but I have the problem that my prints get pinholes after baking.

To explain, at first prints came out burnt, now I have lowered the temperature so they don't burn or get yellow or shrink. This works, but I get pinholes.

Can anyone tell me the solution or give me their settings for copy and paste?

Thank you!!

DTF prints look porous/grainy only on colors (white prints fine) — changed almost everything already

Hi everyone, I’m trying to diagnose a DTF issue that has been driving me crazy for weeks.
My problem is that solid colors (especially reds and dark colors) come out with a porous / grainy / sandy texture after curing. It almost looks like tiny holes or a dry chalky finish.
The weird thing is:
WHITE prints look fine.
The issue mainly happens on COLORS.
Especially reds and darker saturated tones.
The print still has color and coverage, but the surface texture looks broken/grainy.
At this point I’ve already changed almost everything:
What I already changed:
New white ink
Color inks are relatively new
Changed film
Changed powder
Different curing temperatures
Different curing times
Different humidity conditions
Cleaning cycles / maintenance
Nozzle checks look good

Head does not appear clogged
Important detail:
If I print a FULL WHITE design, it looks much smoother and does NOT show the same porous texture.
