bullet proof seedling for 100F Texas heat

one of a few seedlings that thrive in 100F Texas heat full sun environment(outside on the south facing balcony.): bursera paradoxa.

I have to water it everyday because the mineral mix dries out daily in this weather.

It has put out 4 new leaves in 2 weeks.

Did I f*** up ??

The Cussonia paniculata seedling has been slowly declining since I received it.

I wasn't sure what the issue is because it received the same treatment as other caudex plants (others are doing fine).

I removed the soil to check the roots and found that a few fine roots are rotten. The caudex is a bit soft(shrunk in the middle part). I removed all fine roots and scraped a small skin off the soft part of caudex. It seems to be healthy(see picture). The softness comes from a lack of water, not rot. I also removed the leaves of the main stem(they were yellowing due to lack of water). But now I'm a little lost, should I keep it in the water or dry it out to form callus(no more fine roots, just a caudex)?

Or accept that I f*** up and get another plant ?

Thanks!

Fouquieria shrevei seed germination question

Hi all,

I've received a few Fouquieria shrevei seeds and want to learn the best practice for germination.

Any successful experiences with these are appreciated.

Is horticulture gypsum a must for this species ?

Thanks!

Can Delonix Pumila be evergreen in ideal conditions?

I'm searching for info online about Delonix Pumila .

Some say it's deciduous but on Toptropicals website it says "The evergreen leaves of Delonix pumila..."

Is it drought deciduous, cold deciduous or light deciduous?

Can Delonix Pumila be evergreen in ideal conditions?

Thanks!

What's wrong with my Pseudopanax ferox ?

I'm new to Pseudopanax ferox, and desperate for some care tips.

I got a seedling of Pseudopanax ferox from a nursery a month ago(from Oregon). Some leaves have turned yellow and dropped in the last month. I guess it was the hot Texas sun(even though it's kept indoors). So I move it from a window with direct sunlight to a cooler spot with more shade. It stopped turning yellow and dropping leaves.

However, in the last few days 3 leaves (newer ones) start to get black tips.

Is it because of not enough water (I water it once in 3 days, the top soil is dried up)?

Is it because of salt build up with fertilizer when soil is dry? (I use liquid fertilizer, same dosage with my aroids)

Is it because of the water is hard? (Dallas area tap water pH is 7.5-8)

Is it because of the indoor temperature? (air-con room is 26 celsius)

Thank you!
