3 steps to retirement larp
Being neet sucks mentally sometimes. I’m trying to bring myself to get training for a job I actually like by next year (2026 the last of neet life for me I’m kind of hoping but I also go back and forth). These are my personal rules that help me go from anti wage slave doomer mentality to basically larping a retired senior citizen
Sobriety- no alc no drugs no weed no anything
No social media except reddit and long format YouTube
Going Outside. Even if just standing there for 30 seconds. Forces me to get out of bed/put shorts on &move a little. I Usually put on headphones and I make this a walk when it’s sunny. It always feels bad going out but once out I don’t mind it too much.
It kinda sounds like a lot at first and probably not for everyone but if your reasoning for being neet is societal related/ not wanting to be a wage slave then these are the best/easiest ways I’ve found to make it not feel so bad. Mental health still takes dives but by following these it makes me feel more in control and I find way more manageable than something generic like “go to the gym” which is a whole trip, interactions, and investment in general. Just a personal anecdote - trying to be positive hope everyone can find something that works for them
