Pumping Water Into (or out of?) the Harbor Canals?

I was on a bike ride last week (evening/night), and while riding near Newport Boulevard near 32nd Street, I saw a number of Public Works trucks that appeared to be pumping water into a harbor canal. Then when I was leaving, it almost looked like they were pumping water out of the canal.

Any idea what was going on here? I should've asked, but didn't feel like stopping...

What Happened to the Invicta Website? It's Awful Now!

When I search for "Grand Diver" and sort from lowest to highest price, I get a bunch of watches that are NOT Grand Divers.

They also removed the option to select case diameter sizes, and a bunch of other search parameters.

My uinderstanding is that Shopify? is now handling their web interface, and it's beyond awful now. It was fine before, and they just ruined it.

Is There Any Exterior Insulation That Will Work for My Roof?

Hi all, I'm hoping to get some help with exterior insulation options, if there are any in my situation.

My roof contains two curved sections (see photo) which has zero insulation inside. It's pretty much just curved plywood with shingles on top, and drywall texture and paint on the bottom for the ceiling. Needless to say, it gets way too hot due to lack of insulation.

Is there any type of exterior insulation or thermal barrier than can be installed between the plywood and shingles to mitigate the heat? There are no truss supports inside, so I don't think the roof is strong enough to put a layer of insulation and then another layer of plywood up there, as would be typical for normal exterior insulation.

Thank you for any helpful insight!

Car Wreck with Lots of Cops on Irvine Avenue near South Bristol

This is in Newport Beach. Anyone know what happened?

Sorry, I don't have a photo of the crash (just a map image for the location), but it involved a 4-door wagon (possibly a Volkswagon) that had been in a major wreck (single car maybe?). Most or all airbags were deployed. There were well over a dozen police cars on scene (including detectives). This was around 6:00 PM give or take today (6/3).

It kind of looked like it was a chase, but I couldn't really tell what exactly happened.

Thanks for any info!
