Founder seeking advice about finding an iOS technical co-founder

I’m the founder of two early-stage digital platforms, WHISPRR and CHIMERA, and I’m exploring the possibility of developing iOS applications for them.

I’m looking for advice from experienced iOS developers about what makes a technical co-founder partnership worthwhile and professional.

The potential role would involve:

- planning the iOS architecture;
- building the mobile applications;
- connecting them to the existing web platforms and backend;
- preparing and maintaining the apps for the App Store;
- participating in long-term technical decisions.

To be transparent, this is not currently a salaried job posting. I’m exploring a genuine co-founder partnership, not asking someone to work for free under vague promises. Ownership, responsibilities, vesting, intellectual property, and compensation would need to be discussed clearly and documented in writing.

If a developer prefers a paid contract instead, that would require a separate budget and agreement.

I’m not looking to rent or share an Apple Developer account. The apps and accounts would be managed properly under the founders’ ownership.

For iOS developers who have joined early-stage startups as technical co-founders:

- What would you need to see before considering the opportunity?
- What warning signs should founders avoid?
- What would be a fair structure for equity, revenue share, or paid work?
- What should be included in the agreement?

I’m mainly looking for honest advice on how to approach this professionally.

I will not promote: Could an iOS app publishing support service help creators with limited budgets?

I’m researching a possible startup/service idea and would appreciate feedback from founders, developers, and people who have launched mobile apps.

Some creators have app ideas but cannot immediately afford the $99 annual Apple Developer Program membership or the costs associated with preparing and publishing an iOS app.

The idea would be to create a legitimate support service where:

- The creator owns the app and maintains their own Apple Developer account.
- A partner may temporarily help cover the initial membership cost.
- The creator could repay the $99 in two installments.
- The partner could provide technical and publishing assistance.
- Compensation could be a fixed fee, a revenue share, or a combination, depending on the agreement.

The model would never involve sharing Apple IDs, passwords, or developer accounts.

Would this solve a genuine problem? What business model would be fairest for both the creator and the technical partner?

I'd love to learn more about the Al roleplay & Al creator community!

Hi everyone! I'm conducting a short, anonymous survey to better understand the Al creator and Al roleplay community. I'd really love to hear your thoughts about what works well today-and, more importantly, what doesn't.

If you've ever felt frustrated with current Al platforms, your feedback would be incredibly valuable.

The survey takes about 5 minutes.
Please send a DM if you ever want to take part of it !

Looking to connect with other developers and learn from experienced builders

Hi everyone,
I’m a 3rd-year BBA student and over the past few months I’ve been teaching myself how to build software.
I’ve been working on projects such as a social media platform (WHISPRR) and an AI assistant (ORACLE).
Most of the time I’ve been building alone, and I’d like to connect with developers who are further along in their journey.
I’m not necessarily looking for employees or co-founders right now. I’d simply like to meet people, learn from their experience, exchange ideas, and improve as a builder.
For those of you who started as solo developers or founders:
How did you meet other developers?
What communities would you recommend?
What’s one thing you wish you knew when you started?
Thanks!
