Roast my “How To Play” section

Hi community,

first time solo indie designer here.

Could y’all please challenge me on my “How to Play” section?

I plan to have this printed inside the magnetic closure box cover.

The intention is to get people started playing quickly, instead of having them read long rules for an otherwise simple card game.

Appreciate your input!

art direction / design feedback

I got laid off in 2022.

The way it went down was so cringe, a few years later, I made a card game out of corporate absurdity.

Cabo-inspired engine, corporate satire theme.

Looking for feedback on two things: does the card hierarchy read at arm’s length (value, power, flavor text), and what do you think of the art direction / illustration style?

Edit, since it's come up a few times:

layout resembles Exploding Kittens structurally, gameplay is different.

It's a Cabo inspired memory game. Face-down cards are your "employee file" you've only partly seen. Different cards have different powers, that allow you to sabotage other players' employee files and manipulate your own. Matching cards can be slapped on the discard pile. When someone calls 'LAYOFF', one last round is played before everyone reveals, lowest score wins.
