HI, I have a Scarlett 2i2 4th gen and am trying to record bass on it using a Fender Precision American Standard.

If I plug the bass into the Hi-Z port on the front, I get no sound from it. I make sure INST is selected, gain knob is up. The light flashes on the interface, but it doesn't output any sound.

My amp is a Peavey Max 208 so it has a built-in DI. If I connect the bass ro the amp and then connect to the Scarlett with XLR, it works great.

I verified it's the correct type of cable, TS style (one ring on the jack). It's a standard guitar cable.

What could be going on here?

I'm at the beginning where I'm trying to release the cables holding the shuttle. There's a grapple point right in front of me on a broken staircase and I can't jump to it no matter what I do. This should just be a double jump, right? Why is she not doing it?
