Dungeons and Daddies S4

Thoughts on the newest season? I've personally found it pretty enjoyable overall, but I am seeing the Anthony GM bad habits creep.

The ending of last episode (14) was especially egregious. Big Bad shows up out of nowhere (no foreshadowing), somehow knows everything the PCs have been doing, what their intentions are, where they are then takes the mcguffin and kills an important npc with no roll. Felt like it undid the past couple episodes of player action and neutered anything interesting that could've come out of the t1m ashley relationship. Didnt feel like a good faith escalation of the stakes so much as a "gotcha" plot twist that came out of nowhere and steamrolled player agency.

Its reminiscent of things that happened earlier in the season and in season 2 and seems like it comes from a lack of confidence in trrpg story telling? The players can't truly be allowed to direct the plot or figure things out on their own and instead plot point happen spontaneously in cutscene/monologue style seemingly out of nowhere so PCs dont have an opportunity to "mess them up" before they happen.
