Sharing Location

My 18 year old daughter wanted me to share my location with her. I declined. She got annoyed with me. She tried the "well you're seeing my location!" tactic, which is true. My reply to her is that she is correct, but now that she is 18 I will unfollow her as she is an adult. That annoyed her more.

I've seen how she and her boyfriend (will one day be her husband) always know where the other is. She is always looking up where he is, and I assume he does that with her. It seems to be the Gen Z thing to do. I don't understand the need for that, but good for them if it makes them happy. I lived my entire life just fine without anyone knowing where I am at all times, and quite frankly I am finding that little bit of (relative) freedom something I want to maintain.

My wife is already annoyed with me that I won't share with her. Same rules apply. If I'm out golfing (as an example) I just want to be completely disconnected for a time. If you need me, call or text me. I don't need or want anyone keeping tabs on me 24/7.

I don't think I am being hypocritical either. If you are not one of my minor children, I don't have any reason to track you. And to be honest I rarely if ever check on my other teens. 99% of the time I use Find my iPhone is to help them find their phones.

It seems that, at least in my life here, I am in a pretty small minority when it comes to this opinion. Wondering how small that is in the wider world of reddit GenX?

coach mode

I find coach mode in dynasty to be a fun change of pace. I have two one star online dynasties that I play normally, but my one offline dynasty is Texas in coach mode. I find it keeps things fresh by focusing solely on the non-stick work aspects of the game. My only wish would be to have more than the two view options in game. I get they are trying to mimic it as either being on the sideline or up in the coaches boxes though.

Anyone else using this?

Fist offensive playbook for CFB 27 - Death by Y Off Trips

Last year I made a few custom play books that were fairly well received and usually I try and pick a theme and go with it. I have my first one done and released. The idea behind this is:

One umbrella of a formation in this case, it is y off trips. Inside there, there are multiple sub, formations, including pistol, shotgun, wide shotgun, and a single back. The idea here is everything is in the same family. You're not recruiting for four wide receivers sometimes or five wide receivers or three wide receivers in a tight end. Everything is based out of a three wide receiver, one tight end one running back formation. With one exception noted at the end.

What does this give you? This gives you a metric ton of flexibility. You can run this standard. You can run this full-time no huddle you can run this turbo on demand because every time you lineup you have access to every single play in the playbook every time as your base because it all uses the same personnel in addition to that you have at least 20 if not more audibles, which have all been selected to give enough variation that you can run no huddle and be able to check out into anything you want inside run RPO's outside runs short passes medium passes deep passes.

One look a ton of flexibility, and an offense that for the most part, your defense is gonna have a hard time guessing what you're doing.

Formations and plays are below

PISTOL / Y OFF TRIPS (11 plays) HB Wide Zone Wk, Four Verticals, Dash Flood, RPO Alert Bubble, HB Zone, HB Zone Wk, Stretch Alert X Lookie, Strong Flood, RPO Zone Alert Out, PA Y Seam, RPO Alert Slant

SHOTGUN / WIDE Y OFF TRIPS (9 plays) RPO Bubble Y Pop, RPO Walk Alert Curls, PA Slot Cross, HB Dive, Deep Choice, RPO Walk Alert Slant, Inside Zone, RPO Read Y Flat, RPO Walk Glance
Audibles: Inside Zone, RPO Read Y Flat, RPO Walk Alert Slant, PA Slot Cross

SHOTGUN / Y OFF TRIPS STACK (9 plays) Four Verticals, RPO Read Y Flat, Slants, PA Slot Deep Choice, Duo, Strong Flood, Stick Z Comeback, Inside Zone, RPO Read WR Screen

The lone difference and you probably saw it early is the usage of power I Hulk. Apparently it's cheese now, but I have been using that formation since college football 26. It is my go to ground and pound, and has been long before the rest of the world found out about it so I'm gonna keep that in there for me.

If you want to give this a try and do a search for the following: DEATHBYYOFFTRIPS

Holing out to end a round was lowkey disappointing

Hear me out before downvoting please.

Walked 9 a few weeks ago, the last round I have played this year as of this. Holes 1-8 were a normal round for me. Bogeys, a couple of pars. Last hole though I put it all together. Great drive, approach shot about ten yards off the green. Got up to the ball, grabbed my wedge, and chipped it on a little too hard. It hit the flagstick on one bounce, and went straight down and in the hole. Birdie.

Great! I laughed out loud. I was happy. I walked up to the hole and grabbed my ball and then it suddenly hit me. That's it. No more golf. And I found that, oddly enough, getting that birdie took a little something away from the round for me.

For me at least, there's something to standing on that last green with a putter knowing this is finishing up the round. My mind is winding down from golf mode and transitioning back into real life mode that period.

This time? I pick the ball out of the hole, and it's off to the car just like that. From this is awesome! To well I guess I'll go home now.

It sounds stupid to say, but I would have much rather that happened on another hole and had the final hole finish with a putt.

Q golf club

A little background on me. I'm 53. 6-1 250. I'm two years removed from triple bypass surgery. Have barely touched a golf club in 3 years while dealing with the heart troubles and recovery. A decade ago I was an 11 handicap. Now? I'm just a hack.

Doctors have been wanting me to walk more than I have (4-5 miles a week) and it's finally golf season in the upper Midwest. I have been getting inundated by Q golf ads on social media, and I decided to pull the trigger. It arrived Sunday.

I have been playing one length clubs for years now, so much so that the longest club in my bag is a one length 18° hybrid. So the concept of every swing is a 7 iron is natural to me.

It was perfect weather today, so I went out to a short course and walked the back 9. Listed at just over 2700 yards for that nine. My stand bag had my Q, my hybrid, a 58° wedge, and putter. Even with a dozen balls, rangefinder, and tees it was so light to carry.

Hasn't hit a ball in 2026 until today. First few holes the Q was pushing to the right some, in no small part because I have years of rust to knock off. But I love the weight of the club it's got some heft to it that I like.

As a gen 2 version, the club only has 8 settings as opposed to the gen 1 that had 11. Putter, stinger, hybrid, 6, 8, PW, SW, and LW. So there's going to be some gaps in terms of distance. But since my game is about pars and bogeys, it's going to fit my needs.

Most of my shots were between the 6 and S settings. 60 and in I used the 58. I did tee off once with the hybrid setting with the tee a little raised, and once with the stinger setting with the tee up about the width of my finger. Both found the fairway, the stinger rolled like crazy. With rollout got over 230 with that, I'll take that all day.

It took me about 5 holes to get comfortable with my game plan. And I went par par on the final two holes, a par 4 and 5. But the best part of this? I walked nine holes for the first time in I can't remember how long. I had fun on the golf course for the first time in a long time.

In terms of actual usefulness of the club, I can absolutely see it replacing my irons. Once you get to the sand wedge setting, hitting off tight lies is tricky because of the bounce. I think I may pull the hybrid and add my 54° in. If I were playing a long course I'd add in some kind of driver if it was needed, but that stinger setting is more than enough for the distances I play, I keep it under 6100 as a rule.

So the point of this? It's not just a gimmick club, it's actually pretty good. I will be curious how it holds up long term as a primary club for playing once a week. But the idea of getting out and walking just got a lot more doable for me.
