Is it true that americans in general during the early 20th century actually became MORE homophobic than they were on the late 19th century?

In the sense that despite the absence of legal homosexual marriage, the late 19th century’s homophobia was more casual and focused on satirizations and being considered a laugh source or just looked at as inferior, but in the sense that in the early 20th this changed to actively hostile instances and socially accepted hate speech.

Is this true or false? And what is the more complex detail to avoid oversimplifications?

(The Mummy 1999-2001)How is this possible about Annack Su Namum?

The first movie is set in 1926. In the final battle, she is resurrected by Inhotepp in her original mummified corpse, tries to kill Evelyn and sure, until this point everything makes sense. But,the 2nd movie is set only 7 years later and this supposed reincarnation of Annack Su Namum seems to be a woman in her 20’s. She was clearly already alive in 1926.

But the problem is. In 1926 Annack Su Namum was piloting her original corpse waiting for the ritual before it was interrupted, she attacked Evelyn and got killed by the guards. It’s true that Inhotepp said in the 2nd movie that she is her reincarnation with only the original soul being missed. But what exactly does that mean?Sure the reincarnation detail is part of the lore but where is exactly in the reincarnation mithology is it explained something like: “Annack Su Namum can be in 2 places at the same time just out of spite for Isaac Newton.”

The movies seem to imply that the reincarnation happens to individuals who are physically similar to the past life even if that life happened millenia before. If Annack Su Namum reincarnated after the first movie, she would be a 7 year old girl in 1933 instead of a woman in her 20’s.

To summarize the question,if Annack Su Namum soul was piloting her original mummified corpse in 1926 then WHO was piloting the living healthy body that appeared in the second movie at the same time?

“History never repeats itself, but it rhymes”

This quote has so many surgically precise analogies to the point it’s a memorable one. Driving is one of the examples it’s useful for. In the US,women driving used to he heavily stigmatized, through time, the stigma was slowly fading away. Unfortunally, there are still “leftovers” on present day about this such as the stereotype of “oumen bad drivers”. Even if the statistics point towards being the other way around.

This stereotype is likely originated from the mid 20th century. One of the things a lot of people don’t realize is how much experience benefits performance of whatever action you are doing. If women driving wasn’t stigmatized in the first place, they would have acquired experience on operating vehicles since the very beginning on late 19th century just like men did instead of the experience being forcefully delayed.

And now in present day since the experience gap is mostly closed, things are getting curious because turns out men are more prone to accidents than women due to lower risk aversion. Whether risk aversion is good or bad depends on the context. But in this one, risk aversion is definitely positive when you are operating +2000lbs machinery in a public space. And what does this has to do with adultism?Because it DOES rhyme and not only on the driving example.

It’s factual that until at least the 2030’s and 40’s the adultism about how “young adults are naive and stupid” will actually get worse because they will eventually fall for scams in the virtual world at much higher rates compared to present day,not because they are genetically less intelligent, but because these people literally weren’t allowed by their parents and other adults to get experienced with the virtual world.

The young adults of these decades are the current young target demographic of the social media panic. They are children and teens today, but when they join the workforce, the complaints about their technological illiteracy will get so much worse. Don’t forget the countless workplace environments where even SOCIAL MEDIA is basically mandatory. And the problem is this social media illiteracy will be blamed on them instead of being blamed on their parents who swallowed the entire moral panic just like everyone else and sabotaged these people’s road to experience.

If you don’t let your least favorite demographic to get experienced on new technologies, sooner or later the natural consequences will arrive. Whether on the form of less experienced drivers putting more people in danger or being turned into online scammer’s wet dream while they are secretly laughing at your parents for doing half of the work for them.

How many canadian geese at once would it take to destroy Fourth Closet Baby?

Geese are easily the most reckless animal an average human can find in an urban area depending on where they live. They casually cross the street completely ignoring the 2.000+lbs machinery rushing towards them, they charge at humans who are 20X their size and charge at even larger animals than humans when they see one.

In fact, geese are so agressive in real life to the point their fictional portrayls have greatly exaggerated power scale in a way it’s actually funny instead of looking like lazy writing. Paul Blart getting a 1st quality beating from a goose in his second movie will never not make me laugh.

So,how many can Baby fight?Reminding everyone that Baby gutting with hands the nearest goose she grabs which seems like her standard attack pattern towards anyone in the book WON’T work to scare off the rest of the birds because again, nothing scares canadian geese.

Bonus information: Something tells me this version of Baby weighs between 250-300lbs. Therefore,it might require less geese flying charging at her to make her fall(Still far from defeat)than it would take to make a man like Paul Blart fall if that scene happened in real life.

Is she omnipresent or something?

I’m not going to give many identifying details to not go aganist tos. But,there’s an user who is too omnipresent to be ignored on that one parental controls subreddit. Sometimes, but rarely,I go there just to keep watching and wondering how exactly do these ageist’s cognitive dissonance work and how and why do they differ even from each other in certain aspects,I’m a curious person and I think there’s something you can learn about how people work from everyone.

Which is usually a sea of hows and whys in my questions. Some things can be easily explained, others not so easily. But to know who exactly I’m talking about I will say three words…

“Swamped”

“Dad’s safe”

If you saw that sub for more than like only twice, you already know who I’m talking about only by these 2 mentions alone,if not, then sorry, but there’s no way I can help about identifying.

I’m not joking, assuming this person account’s birthday of 2 years was recent, she makes 11.225 comments a year. If you do the math with the amount of hours a year have, she makes on average one comment every 46,8 minutes which is quite the feat if you assume she’s sleeping 1/3 of the time.

The funniest thing is imagine if someone talked about her with the same structured arguments she talks about her son. They would start making an argument for why she having too much freedom of unlimited screen time is actually MORE dangerous than anything her son could do with his own because unlike him, she’s an adult, legally allowed to DRIVE and phones with steering wheel are not the best mix.

Besides,if she’s spends so much of awake time on Reddit bragging about her parental controls and how her son is just a fucking peasant who can’t do shit about it,would she even have any time to show affection to her family?I’m starting to think this user is troll, because please people, even the most insufferable parents in the planet will check the spywares occasionally,at least hug their children a single time in their lifespan,or like eating, drinking water and taking a fucking shower? How is this shit even viable to do if she has more screen time than like 20 average people together?

Mr Incredible VS Captain Qwark(Ratchet Clank)

I have absolutely no idea why,but they remind me of each other.

Round 1: They fight in an average large city place like Manhattan. The citizens magically disappeared with all other objects such as cars, buildings and more remaining. The 2 are all alone.

Qwark has his standard weapons and equipment while Mr Incredible has his suit, but can use the environment around him in Manhattan or throw large objects at Qwark.

Round 2: Qwark replaces Mr Incredible in the island,he has his standard equipment and weapons, can Qwark destroy the Omnidroid 8?

People who ride horses really do have something with their mind

Edit: I mean have something wrong.

It’s interesting how cultural biases can affect even the self-preservation of some people. A carnist will start whining about “but them vegans unnatural” and “but them lions” and a few minutes later this same person is already with their ass on a horse’s back. It’s like they don’t understand basic carnivore behaviour and think lions ride zebras to see who crosses a finish line first and wear zebra’s skin shoes.

Not only this together with dairy is an example of them only remembering nature whenever it’s convenient, but horse riding is such a reckless action that make you genuinely wonder “what goes on this person’s mind?” Some months ago,I traveled for a baby cousin’s 1st birthday and stayed at my aunt’s country house. It was a fun weekend, people wanted me to pet a relatively small adult pony they had there who probably less than 200lbs,but I refused and ignored the social pressure without thinking twice,I’m not going anywhere near an animal bigger than 80lbs let alone pet them in the head.

They have several horses and my other cousin is the one who rides them not only as a hobby through the week but also in some competitions in the city. Of course,it’s an animal who doesn’t consent to that situation being exploited,as I see people do this,I just keep replaying in my head a billion ways things can go horribly wrong in just a few seconds and these people feel completely safe when they shouldn’t.

The risk vs reward assessement in this situation is just so painfully obvious,it’s not like a magical fairy is offering you 100 omnipotent wishes under the condition that you sit your ass in that animal’s back and survive for a few minutes, again, instead of this fairy scenario, these people do this as a hobby and all of this because they want to feel like Sonic the Heghegog:”YEEEEAAAAAAH!I’M SO TALL RIGHT HERE!GUTTA GU FAST!YEEEEAAAAH!”

If the horse gets startled by something or just takes a single misstep, horrible accidents can happen in just a few seconds. These people casually risk having an awful injury for life, get paralysed or even dying just because they want to feel like Sonic the Hedgehog for a few minutes. Sure, not caring whether you live or die doesn’t prove that you are stupid by itself, but these are people who have so many long term dreams for their future and they casually risk throwing everything away all because they think they are a videogame character.

A curious showerthought about pro-youth media

I remembered a question I saw on youth rights subreddit last year about movies or books with interesting youth rights related messages. But this week,I ended up hitting myself with a complete showerthought about that same question and noticed a curious pattern on a specific 2000’s cartoon.

5 years ago,I ended up rewatching many shows from my childhood, not for nostalgia, but for pure curiosity like: “Do I remember everything this way?” But recently,I noticed something curious about the cartoon Robotboy(2005-2008 Cartoon Network).

If you pay close attention, the story seems to have a secret anti spanking message. Pay attention to all the villains who appeared through the show, now count only the ones whose mom’s appeared in the show. Of course, the green short guy who started beating up everyone in sight when he took the “strenght ray” doesn’t count because his parents never appear on any episode. If memory doesn’t fail me,he only has a gorilla as henchman.

There’s Dr Kamlkaze and that boy in a suit with a robot replica of himself who also wears a suit. They are both villains whose mothers appear on the same episodes they do. Dr Kamlkaze for example is a man in his 70’s who is still terrified of his mom hitting him with a spoon even though he could beat her up any day without even needing Constantine. The boy in a suit gets spanked by his mom in front of his enemies and the only reason she delays it through the episode is because she was afraid of the robot replica of her son.

Meanwhile,Tommy is the protagonist, his mom never hits him through the series and he’s a good person. While I suspect it was a narrative coincidence, part of me wonders if this was an intentional hidden pattern. Because it’s a quite curious how all the bad guys in the show with known mothers hit them, meanwhile,Debbie never hits Tommy and he is a good guy.

In Meet the Spartans(2008)a 5 foot tall parody of Happy Feet attacks Leonidas and SHITS all over his face. Just a few seconds later, after he finally manages to throw the penguin off himself, his face is magically all clean. What a SHITTY detail(Literally)

About 30 days ago there was a post in this sub about how that penguin offered to suck Leonidas before being stabbed,so I remembered the other shitty detail. This movie is so bad but so bad to the point it’s good.

How common is it to start salivating just by looking at money?(More on comments)

This is my genuine situation. I’m not sure if my mind is just making visual connections about a paper and food because it happens even when I’m not hungry. It also happens in the most random ass contexts, everytime I open my bank app,I suddenly feel the saliva slowly lowering until it reaches my beard…

How many hundreds or thousands of angry chihuahuas would it take to destroy Fourth Closet Baby?

Imagine they are so enraged to the point they don’t feel pain when trying to bite the metal. Their best chance would probably be fill so much space in the ground around her to the point she starts losing balance. The fall damage would still be weak but much more efficient than any bite from them can do.

I know, just a stupid question, but I got this idea yesterday by watching my chihuahua brutally destroying a toy. She’s the real life Stinkmeaner, she hates everyone and everything in the world with my exception and isn’t afraid of anything to the point she once charged at A HAWK trying to bite.

I have never seen so much hatred for other living beings, she attacks pretty much everything that moves with my exception. If Baby blinks even once instead of going “statue mode” she will be “catching those teeth.”

Which do you think was the least bad decade to be young in most western countries?

While it is true that more recent decades are correlated with social progress,it is not a perfect correlation. In fact, even in more common instances like abortion the chronological correlation isn’t perfect. Young women today(Specially if they are american) have less abortion rights than their grandmothers did at the same age even if their grandmothers suffered sexism at higher levels in other contexts.

So,the correlation exists, but it isn’t 1:1. Therefore I would argue that “2026 is the best year to be born as an average child in most western countries” is an extreme oversimplification. Like the abortion example, one of the rights children are losing is related to the screen panic. Think about it: In the last half century, the anti spanking movement did an amazing job, specially in most european countries, but while the decline is steady,it’s still not uncommon to have spanking parents in 2026 even if you live in most western countries.

The decline in spanking is steady, but not very fast. On the other hand, the screen panic happened very fast. I don’t remember it being THAT bad just like 3 years ago. Therefore,if you picture a “suffering equation” in youth at most western countries,I think the mathematical result would probably show some sort of “sweet spot” instead of a straight line/arrow pointing towards the future. Because the problem is: Parents today are probably like 3X less violent than they were 40 years ago at the best of hypothesis, but probably around 6X more insufferable.

Think about it: If a child and teen before 2000’s didn’t like their parents, what could they usually do to at least take a break from them?Play in the street with their friends. Now repeat the same scenario in the 00’s and 10’s,already decades where parents were more restrictive about the outdoors, but not completely insufferable about technology and a bit less violent than in the past. If a child from the 00’s and 10’s didn’t like their parents, they could still usually get a break from them in television or internet while staying in their rooms. Parents in these decades didn’t care much about digital context, and even when did, they were easily tricked because many simply weren’t tech savvy unlike today.

But today?Belts are a bit rare, not only hand spanking is STILL common but now, children can’t get a break from their parents for 5 minutes, the ONLY moment of peace and quiet in mind is when they are taking a dump. Not a single moment of privacy, and if parents could install organic spywares in their children’s brains most probably would and then they would start whining something like:”How dare your underdeveloped adrenal glands produce these stress hormones whenever I’m checking your thoughts! You are ONLY being watched 24/7!Get over it!You will have your entire life to have privacy!”

Another problem is: The ageism about PERCEIVED young adult incompetence will actually get worse in the next decades. Chances are they will be tricked and fall for scams in internet and social media at higher rates compared to present day and then, the media will start complaining about how incompetent they are when the reality is: Who would have thought that people who are inexperienced with the internet are more likely to fall for scams, right Einstein?

And why are they inexperienced with the virtual world in the first place? That’s right, because they literally weren’t ALLOWED to get these experiences and now the result is blamed on them instead of the people who didn’t allow them to get the experiences in the first place.

The point is: Parents got less violent slowly, but became more insufferable REALLY fast. So,time for a poll!Let’s suppose you are magically forced to start your life again being born as a completely random individual in a random western country, but you can ONLY choose the YEAR you will be born. Which of these would you choose?Where do you think this sweet spot would be?

Janitor VS Fourth Closet Baby Who wins?

Edit: The Janitor is from Willy’s Wonderland

-Her illusion disk doesn’t work to make the fight fair. She can’t trick him.

Some feats to be considered:

Baby lifted Jen with one arm fully stretched, assuming she’s a very very average american woman from the 90’s,Jen weighs around 160lbs. Now the question is: How much strenght is required to lift a 160lbs woman by the neck in a single arm fully stretched? And this is a minimum feat because it didn’t seem difficult for her to do this. She might be at the very least 8X times stronger than an average man.

While John survived getting the back of his head “hammer punched” by Baby, but it’s likely she wasn’t using full strenght because she wanted to kill him slower.

The Janitor survived several claw strikes from Willy, the most dangerous robot and also managed to defeat Siren Sara and Cammy while handcuffed, this man also won in “arm vs mouth strenght” aganist a crocodile robot in his own King Kong style. So unlike Baby with a recorded minimum lifted weight, there isn’t any lifting feat of him in the movie to show specifically how much can he lift, but the fact he was able to produce more force with his arms than a crocodile robot’s jaw that easily chewed the stupid couple earlier is scary.

The problem is: We can’t know exactly how physically strong the Janitor is without knowing how strong that crocodile robot is first, but the Janitor seems to be at least peak human. He also has a military background and considering how long he took to destroy Willy while striking and dodging for a whole minute,he seems to be peak human cardio as well.

Where can I post this?Hypothetical title in the beginning of description:

Yes,in the 1st Incredibles movie,Dash was technically pushing his mother’s butt during the boat scene. Here’s the proof:

Have in mind one very important detail: All 4 suits made by Edna to the family have an orange belt. I circled in white so you can see what I’m talking about,it might seem irrelevant at first, but keep this detail in mind until you read everything.

Elastigirl has stretching and shapeshifting powers, but there’s 0 evidence she’s able to magically delete body parts that aren’t useful to what she wants shapeshift into and regenerate them when returning to her normal form and also 0 evidence she can change the suit’s colors while shapeshifting. But what does this proves?

Go the 2nd picture, you can clearly see her orange belt and get a very accurate notion of where every body part is supposed to be at through the orange belt. You might try to argue that it isn’t her butt that Dash is pushing instead,he’s pushing her legs because they are also the black parts in the suit’s lower limbs, but now go to the 3rd picture where you can see the boat from sky sight. Look at where the orange belt is from the sky point of view.

If you paid attention the 1st picture, you know that all 4 suits have red upper legs and all 4 suits have a black crotch,if he was pushing her legs, you would see at least some black color of the clothing starting just below her belt where her butt would be,then you would see the short red part from her upper legs because all 4 suits have red upper legs above the knees and then, you would see a long black part again at where Dash is pushing, which would be her shoes. But,if you follow your eyes below her orange belt until you see Dash’s hair, you never see ANY red color of clothing.

And now,I ask you: What is all black and is right under Elastigirl’s orange belt? That’s right. Her butt, there’s clearly nothing red to divide her butt from upper legs there,so it’s clearly her butt.

A Little Question About Clay’s Basement:

I’m not sure if I missed something, but how did William knew he was once hiding the main animatronics there?

I don’t remember if this was in the book or only the comic version,he told Elizabeth “the cop friend used to hide the robots in his basement, maybe our final component is there?”

Sure, she wasn’t there, but how did William knew the animatronics were in Clay’s basement for a year after Silver Eyes?He was stuck in a room at the pizzeria,I don’t think he could have seen Clay dragging the robots because William was in a very isolated area of the mall and there’s no evidence he was able to leave before Charlie and Jessica freed him.

This conversation with Elizabeth happened during their “Dr Kamilkazi(William) sends Constantine(Elizabeth) to retrieve Robotboy(Charlie) moments” through the book, more specifically after Elizabeth returns from Jen’s house in Silver Reef.

Oh,sooooooo sad that the general public needed several examples being put to practice to notice such an obvious trojan horse from the start like Australia being the pioneer. Do you remember how were most of these comment sections in late 2024?Yes,the excitement and more than 90% of users supporting because “BUT THEM KIDS STUPID.”

It makes everything so funny when you remember that EVEN other average adultist people were warning other people about how dangerous this could be,but nah, people kept whining that their least favorite demographic was on the internet. I need to admit that I found it amusing to read about the Persona exposed two months ago and the “Palantir linked.” No,I have nothing aganist immigrants,I was happy to read all those things just because EVERYONE’S fucked, which is exactly what the general public asked for, lol.

And now that things have gone wrong, their supposed fully developed prefrontal cortex that is always thinking about the consequences failed them for the 3824th time,BUT IT’S TOTALLY FULLY OPERATIONAL!They tried cutting their least favorite demographic to a fall from the tree, but only now they noticed they sliced their own branch of the tree too!

You would have thought that the whole current political scenario about the Epstein case and powerful people dodging justice would have made the general public less trusting of their government, but no!All of this together with the screen panic being supported by the population happened in the same year!

Great job everyone! And to think this shit happened because a bunch of peasants with an authority complex(The general public including most parents and teachers) didn’t realize they are actually closer to children in power than they will EVER BE of politicians, lol.
