Domestic manufacturing

Feasibility aside, I think this would be a great bi-partisan issue to run on or advocate. In addition to appealing to the MAGA crowd who partially voted for Trump for this reason, this would bring Production back home where we won’t have to overly rely on imports and foreign goods, as well as create jobs for much of the unemployed. Additionally for us, It‘ll be easier to struggle for labor rights and democratization, as the “means of production” would be here again. Even if we can’t do it, for a DSA president to run on this would at least get us a sizable section of the vote with how popular it is.

A U.S Democratic Socialist party

For U.S demsocs and aligned , what are your thoughts in having a principled disciplined democratic socialist party in the U.S. It seems the only thing closest to it is the DSA , which i’m in, but it’s a big tent organization so there isn’t really a ideological coherent project or line, which has its pros and cons. The rest of the U.S Left-wing parties are different shades of Marxist-Leninist or Trotskyist organizations or vague and bordering irrelevant (sorry Green party). I think having a Socialist party that’s genuinely left of Social Democracy but right of Marxism Leninism could capture a lot of us “politically homeless” socialist and get us a way to actually organize. Idk.
