So... we can conclude that this chuseok moon event was a total fail?

Because the event is almost over and from what i know is a collective event to get all the rewards yet there is still a whole row left, and that's saying something because on the JYPE version i think we never got to that row. idk but this game has been so boring ever since the update of the shop that is just meh, i give this game another week before uninstalling.

Why do female villains in OI get so much scrutiny for what they do while the OI male villains don't?

This is absolutely nothing new, but how come that when the antagonist or a female villain does something their reasoning and their POVs are never considered yet when there is a male villain suddenly everyone goes into the "They are really complex because of X, Y and Z"?

Aside of the comments that praise the male villains because they are hot (because most of the times their character design is made for that to make an appeal) I just don't get why the moment a villainess shows up in the picture all her actions are either seen as dumb or ridiculous not only by the audience but the narrative itself. Is this just another double standard?

Another xenophobia arc being shoved away because ✨romance✨ (Holding you close) [SPOILERS AHEAD]

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

I will just say it straight up, this manhwa is bad, but parody levels of bad. It was everything that a parody of this type of stories could be even if it was written to take itself seriously because of how corny and predictable it is.

Now, you could guess my surprise that out of absolutely nowhere the FL before her wedding is kidnapped by some refugees of the war and all of the sudden the psycopath duke that the story has been glazing because of his "inner kidness" despite how ruthless he could be suddenly decides to kill all the refugees of war (even the ones that had nothing to do with the kidnapping) until the FL is released and threatens the FL friends and their family with death and even a princess that is a little girl of a small kingdom into confinement because he suspects they had something to do with the kidnapping.

When it's revealed it was Lady Esca, a victim of the slavery and separated from her parents to go into nobility because of her features is revealed to be the real "villain" the one that did the plan to kidnap the FL to get the magic stones so her people (the refugees) do not die of cold and aren't exploited anymore our amazing (sarcasm) male lead instead of hearing anything she has to say decides that the one at fault is her for not making a better plan and basically victim blaiming her.

Of course she dies and no one adresses this, the FL is saved by the ML and this asshole decides that the children of the refugees have to be separated from their parents and in order for them to get their kids back have to work so they can get magic stones by and earning citizenship.

And on top of that he says that they have to be grateful to the FL because she is the reason he is being benevolent towards them (Mind you, he is putting all of the refugees including children in the same box as the one or two that kidnapped the FL just because he can).

I am sorry, but this to me feels weird. Specially when after that the MLs aide is left to do all the hard work while the ML gets to be all comfortable and fluffy as if nothing happened (last picture)

If this is not the definition of "living in a bubble" then i don't know what it is, it was really bizzare that a supposedly story like this changed tone really quickly and still expects me to believe that the psycopath dude is in the right and is merciful. Of course, what surprises me is not that the psycopath duke is a psycopath but how the story weirdly frames his xenophobia as endering because it was in order to save the FL (who didn't hurted her and nothing, they even said that they didn't wanted to do but were desperate to help their families and get some magic stones).

And specially when in one hand the story so badly wants you so bad to make you believe he cares about the people in his kingdom, even showing him as merciful because he didn't eliminated the refugees when the emperor ordered him to, do you see where i am going? The shameless glazing of his cruelty is insane as well as this weird tone to frame him in this chibi manner as "See? He only needs to have FL by his side for things to be good again" Hello? You separated entire families that had nothing to do with what happened to your wife, leaving them to be exploited because you don't care about helping them in any way! and i am supposed to find you adorable? And of course FL just cares about her love story as well, she just said "please help them" and called it a day, plot point shoved away because their corny romance is more important 💀

Does a romance story needs a Happy ever after to be one?

I never knew that there was an implicit contract within the genre or "tha rules" that needed to be followed so a romance story could be considered one, i just assumed that the imagination of the author was the limit as to what counts as romance as long as the story had a focus on a romantic relationship.

So for example, a couple not ending together don't discard the fact that they were in love, i just didn't work out but the story is still romance to me. Or because it is romance, they have to (not expected to, because i know that will and has happened and will keep on happening on the reader's side, it's natural) end up together even though things have been stablished to not work for them?

Is it mandatory (in the sense that is almost an implicit requirement) to romantic love to conquer all, even if the characters themselves hurt each other to the bone? or if one party hurts the other to the point of no return? I know this is fiction, but when can we say it goes into uncohesive territory when the weight of the actions never seem to touch the romantic relationship? Or there is the point of no return is non existent in this genre if it becomes an obstacle for the romance?

Until what point is the writting allowed to turn back to itself although it dismisses some points for the happy ending? Or there is no limit in the sense that they have to end up together no matter what happened between them?

In stories like Haunting Adeline it seems that there is no limit in reversing the reprecutions of the actions of the Love Interest on the MC as long as the love interest is the one doing the harm and at that same breath there is no limit as to how accepting the MC has to be of his actions. Idk, just a thought.

Huh? 🤨 [For Daphne]

Dude literally got shot by the arrow of love to fall in love with her, why are we lying and pretending that his love was genuine this whole time?

Even if they wanted to excuse it that now it is genuine it still would be a lie because their whole relationship started by him getting shot with the arrow of love and her being shot by the arrow of hatred. So still, the fundation in their relationship are lies.

Groveling arcs are always lackluster

I know manhwas are wish fullfilment but so far I haven't found a single manhwa where the groveling arc feels equal to the suffering FL goes through before living happily ever after with her love.

The story could be about the dude that did her wrong, didn't respect her, treated her worse than crap and literally ruined her life but as long as that dude has the ML tag in the story he is not allowed to suffer from more than 5 chapters when she suffered 50. And i know the "i can fix him" fantasy, but what does she exactly fixes? The guy even after realizing he is in love if it isn't for crybaby tears and pity parties for a few episodes or supposed regret to start again acting all entitled towards her or playing victim, he ends up most of the times not even apologizing and just shamelessly telling the FL to stay with him, and if she doesn't initaly accept the story forces her to, shoving away all her trauma away as if didn't matter.

There is no consideration, no actual remorse, just an asshole that acts like a tamer one when the object of his obssession (The FL) gives in and gives him a pass as if she wasn't allowed to hold on to any resentment or hatred because that's her true love we are talking about.

And it's such bs, why can't MLs suffer as much as they make the FL suffer? Is them getting the consequences of their actions that unnatractive? Or it will make seem less masculine?

I don't get it, specially in a genre where the female characters get the worst punishments ever and are seen as the true villains even if we put the actions of the ML and the villainess in a balance and he is worse, yet somehow only the villainess deserves the worst fate she could ever have.

That's why i don't believe when readers say "he groveled" and then i read the groveling and it's at most 10 episodes when FL suffered the rest of the story. And i am supposed to believe that is satisfying? Please.

I need more female rage in manwhas.

Who are they talking about? [Shifting Tails]

Because both of them turn into beasts, so who's gentle heart we are talking about, huh? Also, this is really misleading because neither of them "tames" the other, if anything she is trying to trick him into leaving her and her village (and of course failing because romance).

Is his hand okay? [Love junkie]

I know drawing hands it's hard, I really do but he looks like he should go the doctor to check what's going on.

It is really interesting to me how double standards work, specially in romance stories where the ML is potrayed to be in the right about something, even saying truths to other characters that are doing wrong... Just for them to act worse in the future.

But of course, since ML is the one doing it we as the audience are supposed to look past it, ignore it or even root for them, right? Right.

I once talked about this character in another post and you know what? I have no problem in the aspect that he and the story acknowledges he is a POS but what makes me roll my eyes in annoyance is when the story at the same time puts this characters in this position of being better than everyone else around them, and worse, that the story conviniently gives this call outs to side characters while brushing other moments where lead characters do the same thing they were calling out earlier.

So... the story is showing in a flashback that when younger Jae-hoon saw that Eungyo was kissed on her sleep by Haeda he recognized and even called him out, telling him that what he did was SA and that he should never do it.

Only for him to do it in the future as an adult, also in her sleep mind you, and even worse because what he did is not even dubcon, that's straight up rape because she didn't noticed until she was woken up by it, literally.

But I guess that is ok in his book because it's him and because he is sooo sexy doing it 🫩 and of course, the story never acknowledges it and the scene just passes as a normal smut scene.

Which, ok if you are going to go that way adding noncon and stuff at least don't be so hypocritical and try to put the same character that did those things in a position where he calls out others on that behavior, it feels disingenious and even worse because if knew what SA when he was younger he couldn't have forgotten what that is in adulthood, right?

Anyways, this double standards are just so nonsensical to me in the sense that not only the side characters get all the flack (that they actually deserve in some cases tbf) while letting the main characters get away with those same attitudes but at the same time put those main characters in this pedestal to point the finger at others as if they were better.

And this is not me saying that all characters should be flawless, just that is interesting how the narrative works into who's supposed to be better and who's not and favor them despite them in the long run not even that different from one another.
