How far in advance is your schedule posted?

I'm considering a career in nursing and understand that working a set schedule is *typically* not an option. I have accepted this.

I do however, LOVE planning my life/vacation in advance. I would plan my entire year on January 1st if I could.

How far in advance are schedules typically posted? 2 weeks? 4 weeks? 3 months? Does this vary based on setting? (hospital vs. LTC vs. community care etc)

The thought of only knowing my schedule 2 weeks in advance makes my Type-A personality malfunction.

Insight?

Fencesitters with going back to school/second career ambitions - how are y'all doing?

I have been taking the steps to go back to school in my mid thirties to enter a more secure career into retirement.

By the time my schooling is done, I will be around 39 years old. And ideally I'd want to have at least a year (or more) of experience in my new field before taking a maternity leave/being out of the workforce.

I can't wrap my brain about having my first at 40 (or later) My partner will also be pushing 50 at that time. With my career and school ambitions, I just don't see where starting a family can fit into this. But without a more stable and secure career, having a family feels impossible in a different way.

We aren't currently in the position to explore egg/embryo freezing ($$$)

Can anyone relate?

TO girlies with plantar fasciitis- where are we buying cute summer sandals?!

The current summer footwear trends are SO cute (mesh flats, kitten heels, pull-on style runners) but my millennial aged arches could never.

I can only handle wearing my cork soled Birks or runners with a supportive insole, which end up looking clunky with a lot of outfits. The current orthopaedic sandal options leave much to be desired...

Where are we buying cute but supportive summer footwear?!

I am okay with physical or online stores, as long as the shipping and potential returns are easy.

(Yes, I am currently seeing a physio for this issue and doing my prescribed exercises/stretches)
