How to increase curbside

How to increase curbside

Purchased this home not too long ago, and trying to think of ways to increase its curbside appeal. I'm not a fan of the color of the brick, but I'm open to any suggestions on how to make it look better.

Edit: I think the awning may have been installed to keep the porch dry. During downpours it still leaks in and there's not much of a run off. The porch is over the basement/garage.

Scratch remedy on new furniture

Purchased a new outdoor furniture set, but unfortunately during setting it up, it sustained some scratches before we put something between it and the concrete...

Is there any way to get these scratches buffed out? It's metal, and I'm afraid that 1. The scratches might make it more susceptible to rust and 2. That if I try to buff it, it will look awful.

It's listed as steel in the description of the furniture, and it has a black matte finish.

Internal job search due to manager

I have been in my current role x1 year. Management is toxic for multiple reasons. A position posted in a different department at the same grade level, but fully remote.

If I were to apply for this position, at what point would my current manager be notified? I would like to test the water to see if I even have a chance, but I am concerned about retaliation.

I'm wanting to put in some custom bookshelves, but trying to save money. I was considering buying some IKEA bookshelves and nail gunning/wood gluing stainable wood onto the premade structures. Then could add fancy trims etc. Has anyone attempted a project like this? Can you get things to stick well to IKEA furniture?
