Been watching this beauty grow for a while!

Still learning a lot about signal strength. Bought a new 5.8 dBi Helium 915 MHz Antenna (big chunky boy). North of me is a big ol park and a zoo down in a valley. Going higher before lower. Still sitting on my back porch until I mount it up higher. Want to make sure it is working right. This is the distance I am getting through my urban area (south). Almost at a mile, up hill through two story houses. Would you consider this a successful test? Or try a lower DB antenna?

He was in his 80's and somewhat of a hoarder. Found this under a bunch of clothes in a closet with all the plastic coverings still on, probably sitting like that since the late 90's. Shocked to find some blue alpines underneath. Probably the best thing I found in 2 - 40 yard dumpsters of cleaning.
