Remove myself from a joint account

I want to remove myself from a joint account for which I am one of four account holders. The account was created to pay bills during a long-since ended relationship. I looked around online and it seems the only options are for all four joint account holders to sign at the branch in person, or to move the funds to a new account without me and then close the old one.

Can anyone confirm if there’s a more efficient option? Any help is much appreciated.

Edit: I can’t unilaterally close the account. It’s not truly mine and that would screw up my ex and her family.

Unexpected breakups

I was recently dumped by my girlfriend of two years, which completely blindsided me. I thought everything was going great, only to find out she didn’t feel the same way. During the breakup discussion, she told me that there were aspects of my personality that were incompatible with hers. She made it clear that I didn’t do anything wrong or hurtful, but some of my behaviors bothered her and she didn’t think I could or would want to change.

I agree with her assessment that we are incompatible, as the things that bothered her were pretty core aspects of who I am. But it’s driving me crazy that she didn’t say anything and acted like everything was fine for months. What’s worse is that the “behaviors” she described were incredibly obvious aspects of my personality and were things I had been doing consistently throughout our entire relationship. I don’t understand how she could tell me she loved me only to essentially change her mind two years in. I feel like I was led to believe something that was never true, and I’m so angry about it.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Women who remained good friends with an ex-partner, what do you think made that work?

Sorry if this gets asked a lot, but I’d love to hear your thoughts!
