First darning attempt, didn’t expect it to look so good! Hate the thread color though… and worried about structural integrity.
Needed to repair this rip on a pair of overalls. The hole was much bigger than in the photo because the overalls had ripped even more, but I didn’t get a photo before I began the project. The actual hole was about 4 in long and 2 in wide. The rip is on the hip of the overalls next to the side buttons, and is in a high stress area.
Because of the rip being at such a big risk to continue tearing, I didn’t know if darning or sashiko would be better to actually reinforce the area and prevent further ripping, so I decided I would do both.
I didn’t not expect the darning to turn out so well! I’m kicking myself now for not using a better color thread. I used tan thread because I didn’t like the color and was trying to use it all up ahh. I wish I had used a matching blue or a fun color to darn, but I had originally planned to put a patch over the area after darning, and then do some sashiko over the patch so it was all pretty a clean.
Do yall think I should rip the darning out and do it again but with a different color, or do you think I should just move forward with the sashiko on top?
My main focus though is on what is needed to reinforce the entire area though, so what would be best for that?

Affordable doggy daycare?
Hi. Basically the title. My dad took in my grandmothers 2 dogs after moving her into assisted living, which means he has 4 dogs now. It’s too much for him to handle and he desperately needs relief, so while we are trying to find the dogs new homes, I recommended he drop them at daycare during the days since he works from home. What are the best doggy daycare options that exist in Fort Worth, specifically around the TCU/ Hulen Mall area is possible? Thank you!

Is this a spay scar?
Could this mark on my cat potentially be a scar from a spay surgery? The black mark on her belly is NOT a tattoo. I had just marked with a marker where I thought I may have been feeling a scar (didn’t want to shave more than a needed to).
Background: I am 23 and live in the USA. I found this female cat outside a year ago. I took her to the vet after I found her, and they said that she’s probably somewhere around a year old and did not have a chip. They weren’t sure if she had been spayed or not yet, although they didn’t do an in-depth check on her spay status (shaving her belly, looking for scars, etc). She was “rotund” though, so they did an ultrasound just to make sure she wasn’t pregnant (she wasn’t, thank god). They said they weren’t able to tell on the ultrasound if she had been spayed or not yet.
She’s about two years old now, and I really don’t think she’s ever gone into heat in the last year that she’s been with me. I really don’t want to put her through an unnecessary surgery if she has already been spayed, so what do you think? Does this mark on her belly look like it could be a scar from a spay surgery?
