What was his tactics today? Stage win and his group stopped riding for him or happy to take 3rd and a big jump in GC, I was so confused

Are there any casual road cycling clubs? Looking for something like Le Col or Rapha that they do in other cities. Decent bikes, decent riders, but not the full BC style super strict sessions you get with the proper clubs. 100km, casual pace, cafe stop and maybe a pint on sunny days. Would be more than happy to start one but just checking there isn’t something already going from the city. 🚴🏼
