Does the school you go to REALLY matter?

For context, I graduated undergrad from a top 20 and I've been accepted to NYU for the MPA program, but I'd end up paying around 90K out of pocket. I have also gotten into a few other schools that are significantly cheaper (PACE, Northeastern, George Washington University). Does the prestige of the institution impact how recruiters view your application? Or is it more so that fact that I'll have the degree which matters more than where I got it?

Prospective MPA graduate student

Hi all,

I was trying to find information on the Northeastern MPA program, but the NEU website feels too generic and I couldn't find any information on alums or experiences. Is anybody here in the MPA program or an alum, if so could I pm you with questions?

I want to know if you think the program is worth it. I hope to do the program online or at least hybrid. How would you rate the online course structure. Are the classes live or pre-recorded. I saw that there was a capstone component, is that easy to do through the online model or is that something that would be better if be done in-person? I live a few hours outside of Massachusetts, is it required to reside in state for the program? I haven't yet started my application and hope to begin a master's program next fall, but wanted to compile info now. Any comments would be helpful, thanks!

Is my plantar wart finally gone?

It's been a little over a month of Zinc supplements, acid treatments, duct tape, and debriding. I. Am. Over. It. Please someone tell me if I am finally done with this thing, or at least close to being rid of it. The more I look at the pictures, the more I can see a small patch of area with no natural lines. My eyesight isn't so great, so I feel like I'm going crazy!

What is Your Experience with MPA-PNP or Health Management?

I haven't been able to find any anecdotes from people currently or previously enrolled in the MPA program.

What are the classes like? Is it mainly lecture style besides the capstone?

If you are in the specialized health program, what did you like about? Was it worth it for your career?

How is the capstone process?

Any experiences or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I am in the management specialization with into to work in health, so I am unsure if I should switch to the health specialization.

How to know if my plantar wart is completely gone?

I yanked out a good chunk of my plantar wart today, but I can't tell if it's all gone. How do you know to stop treatment? I packed the crater with 40% SA and covered it with duct tape to be safe, but I don't want to harm healthy tissue anymore unless I have to.

Progress?

I made a post on here a couple of days ago about my fears with debridement, but I definitely got over that quickly lol. All it took was a long, hot shower and lots of duct tape to make the skin soft enough to start peeling on its own, which was completely painless.

I, however, cannot tell if I need to continue treatment with 40% SA and duct tape. Is there still a lot of the wart to get to? Is that what the white parts in the crater are? I've just been packing the crater with SA and covering with duct tape. How much longer do you think I need to continue?

Low Pain Tolerance and Debriding HELP

Context: About a week ago I put on a 40% SA bandaid for two days. That made the area around the wart really sensitive and tender, so I showered and scraped the SA out and only put it on the wart itself. Then I covered the entire area with duct tape. Today I showered and did some debriding with a #10 scalpel and tweezers to pull out the blood threads. This picture is post shower and debridement. I have now just filled the wart crater with SA and covered with duct tape.

I don't know how I can get deeper to the point of pinpoint bleeding. I have a low pain tolerance and I am a little scared of blood. How can I go further in this process with minimal debriding? How do I know when to stop?

How to get out of Jury Duty?

My mother doesn't know any English and had her jury duty postponed to next month. Is it possible for her to get out of it, considering she won't be able to understand the trial? When she went to have her initial date postponed, they told her that a lack of English proficiency was not an acceptable reason.
