MIL still friendly with my husbands ex girlfriend

I’m not even angry about this, but I find it very strange and thought to share. I’ve noticed this for a while now, but my MIL still interacts with my husbands ex gf on Facebook. They dated for less than a year because she cheated. MIL likes the exes post and just posted “Happy Birthday” on her page yesterday.

Yet me, who is married to her only child and is pregnant for the first time, hasn’t received 1 “how are you” text since we told his family. Her behavior is so strange both my parents and friends have brought it up to me without my mentioning anything at all.

My husband doesn’t use Facebook, so he’s unaware his mother interacts with the ex. As far as I can tell, the ex doesn’t even respond to my MIL either. I also haven’t brought up the fact that his mom hasn’t asked about me because at this point if she does, I wouldn’t even respond.

Am I being too harsh with my MIL as a FTM?

i feel very possessive over my baby already. she’s due in november, and i’m not planning on my in laws excitement over their first grandchild dictating my boundaries.

my husband is an only child and i have four siblings. over the years, my in laws have treated us like we’re still part of their family unit instead of recognizing that we’re our own family now. my MIL likes to refer to me as her daughter, and i know people mean that as a compliment, but i honestly hate it. as a Christian, i firmly believe a husband leaves his parents and creates a new family with his wife. i’m not her daughter, and i see it as an excuse for her to helicopter me.

now that i’m pregnant, i’m already seeing signs that this mindset is extending to our baby. and the thought of my MIL holding my baby and talking about “my grandbaby”, trying to kiss or feed her, or questioning us as if we’re children about decisions we’re making for our family genuinely makes my blood boil. i really don’t care if the boundaries im setting (which are a lot) hurt my in laws feelings. i’m not compromising my postpartum experience or my newborn to keep the peace.

the thing is, i don’t feel this way about my own family. my parents and siblings have consistently respected boundaries. my siblings already have children, and nobody treats each other’s babies like communal property. my parents don’t question us, they respect us as adults and encourage us to prioritize our new family over them, as they have done with all my siblings and their kids.

i see so many moms talk about caving to in laws to keep the peace. i genuinely cannot relate. if someone pushes a boundary with my baby, i’m going to be pissed, and i honestly don’t care if feelings get hurt. all i care about is my new family unit.

the way i feel right now, i don’t even want my MIL holding the baby. at the same time, i know that’s probably unfair to my husband, especially since she hasn’t actually done anything major yet. even if i explain all this to him, i know it will hurt him. “hey babe, your family actually embraced me TOO much, and now i don’t even want your parents to touch our daughter. but my family is fine!”, it sounds insanely harsh. but i can’t help but feel this way, and this is the first time in my life i don’t even want to compromise.

has anyone else felt this possessive and protective over their baby and family unit, or am i taking this too far?

best hard wax for clients with thick facial hair?

I’m a newer esthie & I have a new client that has very thick, stubborn facial hairs that grows on her neck & chin. The hair grows unevenly too.
I had some success using Waxness, but it’s not gripping as much of her shorter, thicker hairs.
I want to find a better gripping wax for next time, any recommendations?

TL;DR: Father told others I'm pregnant directly after I said not to
Hang on tight because this is alot.

I'm feeling very overwhelmed and annoyed. My husband and I decided to tell our parents very early on that we are expecting our first. I mainly wanted to do this so both sets of parents can cut me some slack. My parents expect me to be the "keeper" of my adult siblings who can't get their lives together, and my in laws are always expecting me to be the perfect DIL because I married their only child. I thought if they knew I was struggling in my first trimester, maybe everyone will give me a break for once.

This had the opposite effect. Now, I am public enemy #1 because we said we are waiting to announce to everyone else. Even though my husband has been very vocal that this is his decision too, they will not respect this. My MIL constantly is asking "when can I tell people?" and started sending me "memes" of grandparents ignoring mothers wishes. My husband has taken this into his own hands, but it still annoys me.

Worst part is my father. I do not have a relationship with my sister after some insane things she's done and said to me and my husband. My sister and I are mixed, however she believes interracial marriage is wrong and that I am "betraying my blackness by marrying outside my race" (yes, she actually said this). She has called my nieces and nephews slurs, and my sister a wh*re and SIL wh*res for having children.

As you can imagine, the last thing I care about is subjecting myself to this. Espcially as I've had a very tough 1st trimester, and I planned on sharing the news at the end of my 2nd trimester so I don't have to deal with this now. Well, my father didn't like this. As I mentioned, I'm viewed as the "keeper" of my siblings, and he doesn't think what she has done or said is justification enough for me to be upset, let alone to stop talking to her.

He has been calling me telling me how wrong I am for not telling her (I guess he doesn't care about my 3 other siblings), that I'm betraying her for being pregnant and not telling her, and that I am a bad daughter for asking him to not share this. Last week I got fed up and told him "This is mine and my husbands news to share, I don't care how MY pregnancy makes anyone else feel. I'm focusing on my health, not anyones feelings. As we have said this whole time, do not tell anyone I'm pregnant because that's for us."

Well, my father hung up on me to call my sister and tell her I'm pregnant. I only learned of this because she blew up my moms phone about how disgusting I am. I am beyond furious. I'm pretty sure he told extended family too. It's been a week and I still am furious. I'd like to just block my father, as this really is my last straw, but I will get an earload of how awful I am. Cherry on top, my MIL is still asking to tell people even though we said no.

My pregnancy annoucment is ruined and I just want to be left alone. I don't understand how my pregnancy has made our family so entitiled.
