Help Me Get Started?

I’ve recently felt so lost. Lost in life. Lost in addiction. Questioning everything. The other day, I sobbed because I felt like I’ve lost my relationship with the lord because I haven’t put my faith in the front seat with me for so many years.

It’s been so long.

For context, I was raised Southern Baptist but haven’t been to church in about 8 years.

Can anyone provide tips on how to pray, pastors to listen to, and to further my relationship with the lord and what to seek out to find out how to live a life led in God’s light?

I feel like it’s a heavy question, but man, I’ve felt the pull so deeply. If anyone lives in the DFW area and could suggest any Baptist/non-denominational churches too that would be great. Smaller ones preferably

Any advice helps. Thank you.

Day 18

Hi everyone, for context, I was on this stuff for about a year and a half. 500mg a day daily.

I didn’t taper. Just got off cold turkey, but I was lucky enough to have some supplemental meds those first few days.

Let me walk you through what worked for me, because I know many of you are dealing with the aftermath of the ban.

Here’s what you can look forward to: No more brain fog— Yeah, I know you know exactly what I’m talking about. For heavy users like me, I was always up late and falling asleep all the time, nodding off, always ready to spend money just so I didn’t feel the withdrawals. I’ve been to 14 countries and I used to think to myself that I’ll never be able to go again because I’m trapped by this. It was terrifying, and so was the thought of getting off of them.

The energy I feel now? Wow. I feel more motivated than I ever have. I’d skip on hanging out with friends, ignoring family, just to go home and enjoy myself— and I lost myself in the process. In 18 days, I’ve saved about $1,500 dollars.

Fucking insane.

Most of us got hooked having no clue about the withdrawals, nor how addictive it is, at least that’s what was my situation.

Days 1-4 are acute. Those are the worst. Those are the horror stories you keep hearing about on here and how much it sucks.

For long time, heavy users?

Guys, I honestly didn’t ‘normal’ until about day 14. Days 7-13 were spent forcing myself out of bed, still feeling chills, hated the texture of certain clothes on my body, and the pins and needles even in my scalp ughhhhh.

I got desperate… So, I immediately felt better after getting an IV bag and a glutathione shot (which assists with liver detox). My body was so depleted that the IV bag was done in about 15 minutes— I was honest with them about the muscle aches, so they added extra magnesium and holy wow guys I seriously can’t recommend it enough. There’s plenty of those IV drip bag places. Amino acids, vitamin C, D, B12’s. If you go this route, ask for a slow drip— I got some heartburn after from the vitamin C, but holy crap the next day? BRAND NEW PERSON!

It cost me about $200 total, but I know you guys were dropping that easy on this nasty stuff so consider it!

I’ve been drinking tons of liquid IV, protein shakes (the eating is still strangely hard?), and taking my vitamins.

In all honesty?

There have been good days and also pretty bad days mentally, and strangely feeling restless like I need to do something, move my body around, which I feel like is because I spent the last 6 months laying around.

You keep hearing ‘you got this’, but it’s hard. It IS hard. But you CAN do it.

I have the degree, what else do I need?

Hi there, I’m a 26 year old with about five years of experience, but it isn’t in teaching. I’ve got a background in events with a big NFL company (based in Dallas area. I’m sure you know who it is) and international travel (14 countries) where I traveled to/performed logistics and trade shows from APAC, UAE, Europe, etc.

I have a bachelor’s in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a technical certification in Technical Writing.

I have a full-time job right now, but I’m looking to incorporate something on the weekends.

Any ideas with the background that I have?

Thank you!

Day 13 update

Came off of 500mg a day for about a year. I quit pretty much cold turkey at around 350mg I think the last week?

Still felt terrible by day 11 but on day 12 I went and got an IV drip with minerals and a shot of glutathiazine which helps with the detox.

Today I feel incredible. No aches, nothing. Brand new person. I’d suggest anyone going through this to get an IV drip to get the gunk out and refresh your body. Worked for me :)

Cosplay/Comic Con?

Hi, I live in north Dallas and I’m looking for cons/expos or even meetups for cosplaying? I just feel like there isn’t a big cosplay community here.

I’m cosplaying Anisa from Invicible for Fan Expo 2026 but that’s about the only place I know.

Does anyone else know of fun cons or places I can reach others who also like to cosplay? Thanks

Advice

Hey guys. Currently on Day 12 after 500mg a day for about a year. Is it still normal to feel muscle weakness and aches and all around just tired and down?

Any advice for supplements to help?

Thx

9 Days Clean

Hey ya’ll, just a little update! Officially 9 days clean from these things. I was sitting at about 500mg a day for a little over a year. Now that I’m through the withdrawals for the (most) part— I still feel weak/stuffy and a little bit of nerve pain but I’m still taking very small doses of gabapentin to help with it (for those of you who have been taking it for a long time like me, I’m guessing it’ll take a bit to come off). I’m surprised at how positive I feel bc my main concern was messing up my dopamine receptors. I went from ‘feeling a high’ everyday now to… Nothing basically, which is hard, but we’re getting through it.

If you’re quitting with the ban coming up, I know it sounds so debilitating, but if you journal, I would write down a list of positive things in your life prior to the withdrawal process because a good mindset is the biggest thing, at least for me.

Feel free to DM me or if you don’t have anyone and you want someone to talk to, I’m happy to help because I’ve been there and the hardest part is doing this without support. I’m sure many of us feel insecure and/or embarrassed by the fact that we got ourselves into this.

You. Can. Do. It. I promise. It is so so hard, but I promise you can do this.

Out of curiosity, was anyone else also shocked the first time they felt withdrawal symptoms from going without taking them? I remember being so shocked. At first I was so mad about the ban, but holy crap, the money I’m already saving? 9 days clean and I’ve already saved 400 bucks. Unbelievable.

I DID IT!

Guys! I did it!! It is now officially day 6 of being completely sober from those blasted things. Does anyone still get the pins and needles feeling? I was on them about a year or so at 500mg a day, so I’m hoping it goes away soon but if you’re able, gabapentin is truly a lifesaver during the process.

But I am through the worst of it and let me tell you my head has felt SO CLEAR! the brain fog those things give you is insane.

Persevere. You got this.
