Joint honours, double language ?

Has anyone done/is doing the joint honours with two languages ?

Would it be a stupid idea to put that down on my cao and then if possible take business electives and more subjects toward the end of the degree ?

Sorry if this is a silly question

Joint honours ?

Hi all,

Bit confused about how Joint Honours works in Trinity and hoping someone can explain it simply.

For example, say French is around 358 points on its own, but another subject like Economics or Linguistics is much higher. If you want to do them together in Joint Honours, do you need the points for the higher subject, or is there a separate points requirement for the combination itself?

Also, when applying, are you applying for the actual combination specifically or just general Arts and choosing later?

Thanks.

I’m 18 and in the middle of the Leaving Cert.

My parents are terrible with money and needed €1.7k for a car. I had that saved in stocks so I sold them and gave it to them. Didn’t really want to but it felt like I had to.

After that I couldn’t stop thinking about the money. I didn’t even know if I’d get it back and it was just annoying me constantly.

Then I did something stupid and tried to win it back gambling and lost another €1.3k in one night.

So now I’m down about €3k. I still have like €8.8k saved but I just feel sick over it.

What’s actually bothering me more is I’m really pissed off at my dad for putting me in that situation in the first place. I know the gambling part is on me, but still.

I’m trying to study but my head just keeps going back to it and I can’t focus properly.

Don’t really know what to do, just wondering if anyone’s dealt with something like this or how to get it out of your head for a few weeks.
