A little drawing study of my sp. aff. burtoniae

Decided to draw this guy to help me out of my artistic rut. It was so fun trying to match my drawing as close as I can to the reference, leaving some room for artistic freedom. While I used the reference for color matching, I drew the leaves free hand and made this all on my iPad using procreate. Hope you guys enjoy!

Lovely lovely flowers

Update from my last post here. Sp. aff. burtoniae continues to be an absolute stunner. Photos taken using a macro lens attachment for my iPhone. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do, and that you and your hoyas are happy and thriving!

Starting corms in aerogarden

Has anyone successfully started their corms in a hydroponic set up? My friend gave me an aerogarden and i have a bunch of corms from my scalprum that didn’t make it. I have 4 corms set up on the right side of the aerogarden, hoping they’ll be able to grow. Also pictured is some fuzzy white growth on one of the corms after one night in this set up. Any feedback or advice is more than appreciated!!

So many flowers!!

My two sp. aff. burtoniaes have been blooming like crazy this summer! I believe the smaller one is variegated, but both flowers are pretty identical. These hang above the edge of my couch, providing a nice view mixed with a lovely butterscotch and caramel scent. This is my second summer with Hoyas, and I’m oh so grateful that they are doing well. While it feels like a lot of things in life are out of my control, it’s nice to be able to grow some pretty plants and be rewarded with pretty little flowers. I think I got lucky too with my new unit being above a garage, providing lots of humidity and sunlight. I hope you all are having a good day and enjoying your plants as much as I am mine :)

Some Wayetii blooms to brighten your morning ☀️

My shaky hands and macro lens attachment for my phone were able to get some decent shots of my first wayetti flower. I love how they open up almost like little fuzzy envelopes. I don’t pick up much of a scent at all but I’ll keep my nose on it to see if that changes lol.

Help with my philodendron!

My friend gave me this as a propagation around a year ago and it’s grown out to be a beauty. Over the past couple of weeks the new leaves have struggled to completely unfurl and the rest are starting to yellow. It’s smack dab in front of an east facing window and I water every 6-7 days. I suspect it may be getting too direct of sunlight but I’m not certain. Any tips or advice to help this one keep growing would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!
