Hi all,

After parting with first a 740, now a 940.. we've ended up with an 850.

What are common to go on these / common problems?

There are few things we are aware of that needs replacing;

- Radiator (minor coolant leak)

- Washer fluid bottle

- Exhaust & cat (rusty n rattly)

- Top engine bushing (common to go)

- Rear tyre (slow leak)

We are minorly... well.. concerned about blue smoke.

It only comes when acceleration (or revving), and smoke is also coming out of the dipstick tube when removed. - I've sort of looked into this, would it most likely be a blocked PCV? It also smells quite rich.

Annoyingly the battery has died, so having to order another.

Also a question about the radio/head.. on low battery that was able to close window (7v), would that also cause the radio not to turn on with the power button? We PRAY it works but only ever managed to try today when it was flat.

Hi all, (940 2.3 LPT Classic)

Can anyone in the UK recommend places to get bolts actually MADE for the alternator? Or just a general place to buy them online (even overseas) that don't cost the earth.

After it snapped a couple months back, we have just been using ones from b&q as a makeshift, but obviously they aren't properly made for what it's trying to do....

Can't tell you how many we've been through lol, but nearly out of what we bought.

Hi all,

Got a coolant leaking issue with a 940 2.3 LPT Classic.

Originally thought it was pissing out the turbo, turns out it's coming from the head area, unsure of where (haven't ripped it apart yet). Also drips down from the possible top core plug? to the bottom one as pictured. (And ends up all over the manifold) Has anyone else had this issue?

Got it towed home yesterday from work as it completely emptied itself.

I would post a video of it but unable to, sorry these pictures are crap.

Praying it's not a head gasket, no coolant in oil (as of yet!!).

Any ideas, tips or tricks would be extremely helpful.

Hi all, I've been having this issue for a while now.

I imagine it's down to how hard the water is around here, but there is constant black / orange markings on the flooring and on the tiles in the shower. (Wet room type)

I've tried scrubbing it, using pink stuff steaming, using mould/mildew spray, mopping it and god knows what else and none of it seems to budge.

The bottom of the shower curtains are also black and oranges how do I go about cleaning those? Or is it time for a new lot? They were replaced in the last year anyway.

There is also constant mould and build up on the helping chair attached to the wall (for my MIL) which again, I scrub and clean and nothing budges.

It's really getting to me how dirty it is as I absolutely can't stand places that are meant to be hygienic to be dirty and I've basically given up trying to make it look better.

Also there are mould spots on the ceiling, which again I've tried to eliminate but no luck.

Any ideas / tips would be greatly appreciated, I hope you're all having a wonderful day.

Finished my sleeper build in a 2007 ATX case.

Looks completely stock on the outside, but inside:

- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8 cores / 16 threads, boosting ~4.1 GHz)

- NVIDIA RTX 3080 (Gigabyte, 10GB GDDR6X, 320-bit)

- 32GB DDR4 3200MHz (CL16, dual channel)

- MSI X570-A PRO motherboard

Kept the original case because I love the old school look but it’s running modern hardware with no problem.

Had to work around airflow a bit but temps are solid (surprisingly) and it handles everything I throw at it.

Kinda funny seeing a PC that looks like it should be running Windows XP pushing modern games.
