Meet Wrex!

My husband and I lost our first girl about a year ago and our hearts were broken. We’re finally ready to love a little dragon again. He’s a good hunter and loves to climb!

Day 2, pushing through

Hi all. I have ADHD and fibromyalgia and have struggled with addiction my whole life. Binge eating, alcohol, vaping, and weed. I don’t binge eat anymore, I dropped weed because it destroyed my cognitive function and personality, and two days ago I stopped vaping. I got rid of all opened and unopened vapes so there’s nothing in the house. I’m working on alcohol as well, and have limited my intake significantly.

I know I’m in for a rollercoaster ride with quitting nicotine, but I was only vaping for 3 months. I am hoping that quitting before I got in too deep helps speed up the process. It’s day 2 now and I’m exhausted. I’ve only been able to do menial tasks around the house. I am lucky I don’t have to work currently as I am a teacher on summer break. Since quitting, I’ve also been getting headaches pretty regularly. I’ve read that this is all normal and part of the process.

One thing I didn’t expect is the tension nicotine was causing on my already tense muscles to lift so quickly. I initially quit not because I knew it was bad for me, but because it began giving me horrible insomnia and muscle pain/stiffness. I’m used to a degree of pain as someone with fibromyalgia, but it got to another level of discomfort after those 3 months of vaping. Already, my body hurts a lot less.

Has anyone else notice a difference in how their muscles feel upon quitting?

I also welcome any other tips for making this process easier. We are in a horrible heatwave right now so I’m at an impasse with exercise. My house won’t even cool down despite the AC, it’s that bad. I can barely move when it’s this hot due to my disorder. The extreme heat causes fatigue, nausea and other issues. That being said when this subsides I plan to get active more.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone ID this guy for me?

He’s been hanging around my house for a while. I have lots of plants so I’m hoping he’s helping keep pests down. Thanks!
