Littering our streets

I watched a gentleman plaster signs for a certain woman to every pole he saw up and down the street. Wrapped clear tape around the entire thing top to bottom, because they know it’s not supposed to be there. Then took photos of each one he posted (presumably to show to HQ. This is obviously a sanctioned activity or they would stop it.)
This is illegal, point blank. Why aren’t there any repercussions for this? Shellacking signs on every post is disrespectful as hell to every person who lives here.

Nothing new, but come on Joe and Gen…

They don’t seem to understand that you aren’t OWED a job. As a human I can understand the sting of feeling overlooked (for Gen, someone more green. for Joe, someone he doesn’t like the leadership style of) but their reactions after that are pure immaturity and entitlement.

Joe proved he could be a good bosun, but that isn’t the role he was hired for. There’s already a bosun. When you get hired for a season it’s not a dogfight to see who gets highest seniority. Two people on the team can have the skills to be a bosun. We see all the time people who have worked in a higher position, but are hired on that specific boat for a lower role. If it was just a constant competition the hierarchy would collapse and the whole boat would be a mess. Just like we’re seeing with Joe feeling like he’s owed a job title that’s different from the one he was hired for, and isn’t functioning in his role as lead deckhand anymore.

Gen’s attitude constantly emphasizes why Aesha prioritized Kayley’s personality over pure number of years worked. Simply putting in years doesn’t mean you’re automatically getting the job especially in this industry. Kayley also has transferable skills from non-boat jobs, a good attitude, and connects with guests. What we’ve seen of Gen, it seems like she might make guests kind of uncomfy (like viewers are when watching her). She could have easily fixed the issue w the caviar dishes and THEN told Aesha that something was missed. Instead it seems like she wants other people fail and expects to be handed a prize when they do.

EDIT to clarify I’m in no way defending Nathan, his actions, or who he is as a person. This is purely an observation about HOW Joe is reacting in a professional setting.

Families standing on business

I’ve watched almost every season of US, UK, and Australia and from my recollection no family has ever come in and been like RUN. Even some of the worst & most controversial couples, their families come in, scold them a bit, and then say oh but we think you’re cute now, we support you. (Even Helena’s dad made nice with Harry, but that is its own disaster).

For two families to come in and really really stand on ‘this is wrong’ was crazy and also refreshing thankfullyyyyyy. Of course Sincere’s dad kinda ended with ‘you better fix this’ but he really didn’t give Sincere any passes. Melanie’s family was 100% against it and thank god bc no one in the real world would see their daughter/little sister treated that way and give it a pass. They don’t give af about the show, they’re worried ab their girl.

I also appreciate Aniya’s family telling her she sugar coats things so Melanie won’t leave Sincere aka the villa. Melanie stood 10 toes down for Aniya when KC came back from Casa and honestly, I’ve been sad that Aniya hasn’t given her that same realness back in her own interests. I really appreciate her owning up now.

Juan is THE performative male

My god, him writing that letter to 3 versions of himself (when everyone else just wrote a normal letter), then making himself cry with his own poetic deepness. Karla is a true healer for not laughing in his face.

I don’t know who his faux deep-intellectual act is fooling, but it’s not Karla. And I assume that’s why he’s not ‘attracted to her’. She didn’t fall at his feet and tell him how deep he is and how smart he is and how brave for his workshop/tech/startup.

He literally wanted to be her dad, interrogating her about her business plans and doling out sage advice. Sorry Juan, don’t forget about Karla!
