JUST NOW purchased

I saw what seems like several legitimate ads and decided to make the purchase. I just finalized it and came here to see what others’ experiences were. I did it wrong! I should have come here first!!!

Because I just finalized the purchase and have not even sent payment for it yet, is it possible to cancel the process?

2005 DX

I bought this car for my grandson’s first car. It was really bare bones… Hand crank for the windows, few if any USB plug-ins. It just had the bare necessities of good heat and air. He’s lucky it had an automatic transmission.

I bought it from a man who bought it brand new and was the only owner. He kept it in his garage/Morton building the entire time. He did all scheduled maintenance, etc. and never had any problems with the car. He only put on about 10,000 miles a year.

My grandson, who was 16 when he got the car, drove it without incident for nearly a year. Then he started having problems with it overheating. We all came to the conclusion. It was probably a head gasket. I started hearing a lot of people say it wouldn’t be worthwhile to replace the head gasket because the car is so old. The rationale was that the increased pressure would blow out the lower end of the motor. Could someone explain that to me? I hate to just leave the car sitting without being fixed. It won’t be grandson‘s car, I got him a different one. I just wondered is there no way to make the car drivable?

My first iPhone

I still have my very first iPhone. It’s an iPhone 4. It’s still in the same Lifeproof case as it was when I was actively using it.

It’s been in a box with a bunch of other old iPhone charger cables, empty cases and phone paraphernalia. I had forgotten the phone was in there. When I found it again, I charged it to see if it would power up.

It charged at least 12 hours. When I tried to turn it on (sans power cable), the passcode screen took the passcode. As the Home Screen was coming into view, the phone went dark. When I depressed the power button again, I say the battery icon and a red line at the bottom of the battery. I was at least hoping to access Settings to see what, if any, capacity the battery had. No luck.

Any idea whether the phone will ever charge well enough to power up fully?
