Health score took a huge hit

I’ve had a decent experience with my body pod but have never put a lot of faith in the health score, especially since they won’t tell you what goes into calculating it. I noticed this morning it just randomly dropped by about 45 points from yesterday, even though all of my health indicators are moving in the right direction.

Anyone else see the same thing?

Band too big

So I have a 5.5” wrist and I have the 2.0 band. It’s huge on me and the end part that’s supposed to stick to the Velcro far surpasses it and it comes undone very easily. Has anyone had this issue? Are there replacement bands or other options somewhere? I’ve done some searching but can find any for the 2.0

Cycling and how to track

Is there a way to tell the app/band that I'm cycling, not just sitting still with an elevated heart rate? I cycled my usual 50km today with my new band (2.0) on and it doesn't seem to think anything of it.

Hume Band 2.0 vs Others

Soooo what’s the consensus on these? What’s the difference between this and something like an Apple Watch SE3, Garmin products, Whoop band, and all the other popular bands??

Is it worth it to buy one even if you don’t have a Hume Pod?

My Experience With Bodypod

So, when I purchased my bodypod, I came onto here and noticed a lot of people saying negative stuff about it, which made me want a refund before it even arrived, and it freaked me out, honestly. However, I've been using it for just a little over half a year now, and I can say that it has helped me with my weight loss journey a lot. I started at 240 and lost 30 lbs before I found the bodypod, but it took me a really long time to lose that 30 lbs, like I'm talking a year or so (could also be because a lot of stuff happened in my life, but I don't wanna get into all that).

I found the bodypod through a beauty influencer on YouTube, but didn't initially buy it because I'm a poor college student who is very skeptical of EVERYTHING I buy. I decided to go for it and bought it, making sure to take photos and videos of me opening it because I heard horror stories about people trying to get refunds.

I did the weigh-ins and stuff, and they weren't always accurate, but one thing I like about it is that when you use it multiple times in a row, and you're not sure which result is accurate, it takes the average of both results. I have compared results to doctor visits, and it seems to be pretty accurate, along with comparing to both my gym scales and my other scale. When I am running consistently, my muscle mass and fat % in my legs genuinely do change on the app, which surprised me because a lot of people were saying those were just made-up numbers.

Anyhow, the hume scale was my ONLY splurge in my weightweight lossloss journey. I bought a 40-dollar smart watch off Amazon, a cheap Owala water bottle (I was trying to choose between this fancy 200-dollar water bottle or the Hume scale and glad I made the choice I did), and this scale. All I did was run a lot, change up my mindset, and use this thing. I lost 82 lbs so far (NO OZEMPIC EITHER GUYS!! I'm an Ozempic hater unless you genuinely need it for your health)

Oh yeah! And a lot of people on here were saying a lot of stuff is locked behind a subscription paywall, which is kinda true but not really. I think the age range of this product varies really widely from poor college girl to rich old person, and as a poor college girl, I didn't really have the same expectations as some other people on here. That isn't to say that they're bad expectations, but I think the website makes it pretty clear which things are subscription-based and which aren't tbh. Then again, I research stuff a lot before I ever click the purchase button because I'm kind of a penny-pincher and all about reusing stuff and not buying new. I mean, I only shop at thrift stores, yet I bought this thing.

I am also really not a fan of AI, and I'm glad that the Hume scale app without a subscription doesn't force you to do all that mumbo jumbo. That's just a bonus for me, and I figured I'd throw it in for those considering purchasing this product, but it isn't really a big thing since AI should be focused on medical stuff like health scans instead of replacing artists' jobs if anything.

Overall, I'd rate it pretty well! Do I think this would be good as the ONLY thing to help someone lose weight or keep track of their fitness progress? No. You need other aspects of your life to change in order to make a change. This is just a helpful tool. BUT I do think it's a good tool if you don't fully rely on it. Like for me, I use it to make sure the weight I'm gaining as I lose weight and work out is from muscle and not bad eating habits. I also like that it gives you an estimated basal metabolic rate!

Just got the Hume Band 2.0

Hi All,

I just got my Hume Band 2.0 after about 3 to 4 months of using the first generation band. Contrary to popular online opinion, I haven’t had any pairing issues, battery issues nor any crazy variance in the data that was expecting.

In addition, I’ve had really great success with the AI nutrition photo capture feature and barcode scanner that tracks calories. It’s actually been extremely impressive.

I also have the scale and I understand that it’s not gonna be 100% accurate maybe more premium and more expensive scales, it’s pretty accurate at the end of the day gets the job done for understanding, decent general trends, and metrics.

No, I don’t sell these bands myself. I have simply been looking for a device and app that tracks the data so I can better improve my lifestyle day by day.

Happy to answer anyone else’s questions.

Worth the investment

Hey guys I've been using Hume products for roughly a month now. How are you liking your insights? Do you feel its been worth the investment?

Just got the Hume Band 2.0 and seems good to me, am I wrong?

I have worn the Hume Band 2.0 for a week now and it seems pretty impressive to me, however I don't think I have seen anyone say anything positive about Hume and Hume Band 2.0.

Everyone says they are dodgy and overpriced but for a subscription free band with Blood Pressure readings the price isn't that bad.

The app on the other hand is terrible, not even got the most basic of options on it, like being able to control notifications. You have to amend the notifications within the app section in system.

I'm well within the 45 day full return period, should I return it?

TLDR: I think Hume Band 2.0 is good, am I wrong?

"Hydration is below your optimal levels..."

I am at a serious loss for words. Started using my scale back in February, and was literally the greatest piece of health equipment I've ever owned. A few weeks back, started getting the message on my scale that my hydration is below my optimal level, and therefore my readouts would be inaccurate and to delete that weigh in. I have since had the same message every day since, even with 10-20 attempts throughout the day. I know my hydration is not low, at least definitely not low enough where this would be an issue. When I first started with the scale, my hydration percentages were around 20% and over the last few months have gotten up into the mid 50s, so there's just no way in my opinion! 😫

I have followed all tips and tricks out there, wetting my hands and feet, lotion, spraying the scale with water, wiping it down, jewelry on, jewelry off, trying multiple times throughout the day, resetting the scale, deleting and reinstalling the app, setting up a different account...I've done it all. I reached the point where Hume sent me a replacement scale. Just for shits and giggles, I've had my husband trying and has no issues but I still have this issue. I have been unable to get a reading in over two weeks.

Desperate to know if I'm the only one out there and is there anyway to solve this super frustrating issue... Hume support has no answers...😔

Scales keep failing to pair with iPhone. Should I really have to reset the scales EVERY TIME I use them?

I’ve been having to reset the scales in order to get them to pair with my iPhone almost daily!!
Is this normal?

DEXA V HUME BODY FAT % AGE BIAS

HI

I'm a 53yr old male. I had a DEXA scan on the 19th March 2026. I also for comparison took my hume body scale readings. This scan was after a bulk from January 1st. I strength train 5 days a week...include cardio 5 days a week also.... and am very dialled in on my diet in particular my protein requirements.

DEXA. HUME BODY POD

WEIGHT 102.6kg 102.6kg

FAT MASS 23.5kg 22.6kg

BODY FAT 23.2% 22.2kg

LEAN MASS. 75.26kg. 74.9kg

As you can see no major variation. However since then I have started a cut and now weigh 93.75kg. However this is the confusing part according to my Hume readings(not due another DEXA for 6 weeks).

According to Hume my new stats are as follows.

HUME BODY POD

WEIGHT 93.75kg

FAT MASS 21.8kg

BODY FAT 20.5kg

LEAN MASS. 71.5kg

Basically according to Hume all I've lost is muscle and fat mass is unchanged despite nearly 10kg weigh loss.

However I set up a new hume account and reduced my age to 33 and the results flip flopped body fat percentage falling dramatically whilst lean mass increasing.

My question is this an age bias in the algorithm where it assumes if a 53 yr old male loses weight it must be muscle whilst a younger guy is presumed to have increased is muscle mass.

Thanks for reading and appreciate any comments.

Hume Pod

Considering purchasing a Hume Pod but they're not exactly cheap and I've heard mixed reviews. What has been your experience and how accurate have you found it?

Not a great start

I got all set up, and decided to buy a year after my free one month trial... Nope... Charged for a year immediately, and subscription renewal in 12 months. What the hell?
