AWD Tahoe, replacing pickup tube oring and can’t get front differential to drop down far enough to get oil pan out. It’s completely unbolted. Any tips?

What is this part that is circled? Underneath that is a part stamped “Bosch” and it is ticking. Confirmed with stethoscope.
