It was important to me her name will honour my father. I did not like his name as a name itself, so instead we looked for names that had meanings connected to either his name, or something that he would have liked. Now we have six names and these are the ones. But I have trouble choosing the one for her.

Originally her name was going to be Yuliya. So that is the kind of name I like, I like it to be pretty. We don't use middle names and we currently live in Poland.

Our daughter is due next week. We thought we had her name decided.

But my father was killed. We only found out a few days ago. My husband and I agree that she should be named after him, after her grandfather.

His name was Artem. I don't know any female names except Artemis. But I don't like it. It seems to me that it's a boy's name, despite its meaning.

It doesn't have to be his name, but I just want something to honor him. My husband said it could be less literal like a meaning, like Myroslava or Solomiya and I would be happy with something like that as well.
