Tips and tricks for surviving the festival?

Hey, I'll be coming to Plovdiv for the philgood festival and I managed to find a hotel for a decent price ( hotel chiirite ). I'm not even sure if it's a scam or not but I got it through booking so it should be ok.

I have a couple of questions.

  1. This hotel is on the city outskirts, and it says that by bus it'll take me more than an hour to get to the festival. I saw on some other threads people recommended staying in close by cities and taking the train which is like a half hour ride? What's your opinion on this?

  2. I'll be coming by car but I'm assuming parking around the festival site will be impossible?

  3. Taxi services, are they reliable? and how much should I expect to pay for this 14km 20 min ride according to Google maps. Is there an easy way for a foreigner to book them?

  4. Late night travel? Going back will be late at night, do buses even work ? How safe is the city at those hours?

I'm sorry for the wall of text and all these questions, I'm just a bit anxious. But the lineup of the festival is too good to pass up

Boo for inmusic crowd

Not sure if I should expect something different, but whole crowd of people kitted out in Gorillaz merch were absolute statues for 90% of the music (you can probably guess when they weren't)

The setlist was great and I had a great time, so I'm not sure why this even irks me. Just wanted to vent I guess.

I wanted to get locals perspective on my Belgrade trip. Im from Macedonia, so balkan driving habbits are not new to me. I was expecting things to be like Skopje just amplified as Belgrade is a much larger city. At least thats the impression i got reading on here before hand. But driving through the city i was pleasantly surprised, the lights were almost always green, the roads were very nice, and everything was marked. The highway is excellent, fucking airport runway, no potholes.

The only time i felt quite unpleasant was at the huge roundabout around the church i think it was?

Is this because im used to Skopje, and i have no point of comparison to other western countries? Or maybe because of the long weekend the city was emptier than usual?
