Keep chasing 25k SQC after 100k EDQ?

Sanity check here - just confirmed I have 25k status for 2027 after getting the 100k EDQ from everyday spend. I currently have about 16k in SQC and can get to the 25k max within the next few months.

But after getting the milestone benefit at 20k SQC, is there any point to keep going? I don’t do many paid fares in the year so I don’t think I’d be able to get to 35k status. Should I just focus on my other loyalty cards (ie Amex MR) as soon as I reach the 20k milestone benefit?

What class to book with a four year old?

After avoiding air travel during the toddler phase, I’m finally looking to book a flight for my family of three, little one being 4 years old, but can’t decide what seats to book.

It’s a direct flight, approximately 4-5 hours. Way there is in the morning, way back is evening, about 6pm - 11pm-ish. He will be 4 1/2 by the time trip rolls around.

I am tempted to book business/signature class (I checked that it is the lie flat seats) in the hopes that he can get some sleep on the way back and because it’s just nice and that would be my own best case scenario. I’ve read up on the required seating (ie not across aisle), but of course the middle two seats have the divider that doesn’t retract so he’d really have to be able to sit on his own for all of take off and landing, even if one of us sat next to him in the middle and the other was right behind.

He hasn’t flown since he was under 1, so we don’t have a seasoned flyer. Am I setting myself up for more stress than it’s worth by booking for business and hoping for the best? If I don’t book business, would premium economy still be more comfortable for that evening flight?

I would love some insight/suggestions. Save me from my indecision and tell me what to book.
