I have my windows mic volume on 30% and my logitech g hub input settings at 30%. So yes it's a "duh" moment of 10% volume, but if I go any higher my voice peaks. I don't know if it's the right word, but it sounds like the voice is cracking and falling apart if I am a bit louder, laugh or even just excited. Like a mic from 2000 when kids are screaming into it. And that's the reason I had to lower the volume this much.

These are the settings I am using. I need the compressor so when I talk more quiet it can be heard easily. If anyone could help out that would be appreciated

I sadly did a recording afterwards so I don't think the log file will help anymore.

I recently had to replace my SSD which reset everything on my PC, including all settings in all softwares I have. I record gaming videos for YouTube (fulltime) and in 1800 videos uploaded, I've never had this issue. The entire recording is almost 2 hours long and after roughly 30 minutes, it lagged like crazy for 30 minutes, like down to less than 1 FPS.

I have adjusted the settings already a bit but any input is highly appreciated to avoid that from happening again.

Format: .mkv (to avoid PC crashes corrupting the recording)

Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC H.264

Rate Control: CBR

Bitrate: 20k (lowered from 60k, I usually need a very high bitrate because in many games I play a ton of effects go off)

Keyframe: 2s (was at 0s)

Preset: P5 Slow (was at Slowest)

Look-Ahead: unchecked (was checked)

I also added OBS Studio to the "custom settings for applications" and selected "High Performance RTX 3080 Ti"

Does anyone have any advice? I just fear right now that I may do an 8 hour recording one day and realize 4 hours in it started lagging like crazy for 2 hours and I can throw away all
