How to be a good PSW client?

My family member is having a PSW assigned for the first time for about three hours a week. What are the things that the family should have in place to make the job easier for the PSW and ensure the family member gets the help they need ? What are the things that a PSW expects to be asked to do and what are the things that are outside the scope of duties. Key for this family is PSW consistency, competence, and communication. TIA.

VIA Rail to Montreal...no luggage allowance for Business Class

I recently tried to buy a Business Class Plus seat for a friend travelling from Ottawa to board a ship in Montreal. A seat was available but, at the point of purchase, the VIA website advised there was no luggage allowance. I figured this was a glitch and contacted VIA directly. This was not a glitch....the agent said a large group had purchased tickets for the same train and there was no luggage room left. They said the new trains have less storage room.

How ridiculous is it to sell a seat (or design a train) without enough space for each passenger to have a suitcase!

I am going to be visiting L’Anse aux Meadows with friends late September. Unfortunately, our dates appear to be after Parks Canada programming ends for the season, so too late for us to take the Parks Canada “Meeting of Two Worlds” tour which we had been anticipating.  I would very much appreciate your recommendations for an independent tour guide who could provide something similar.   Thanks in advance.
