EBAY VS POSMARK

So i started my reselling journey in Oct of 2025 starting with ebay. i did some good numbers considering i have access to huge inventory. Then in January 2026 i started poshmark and since then i gross more on poshmark than ebay every month even though my ebay account is older and poshmark is limited to canada only. Its actually a 75-25 split in terms of order numbers. Am i doing something wrong on ebay?

Canadian seller scaling into the US how do you handle shipping and taxes for US based inventory?

Hey everyone,

I run a vintage shop in Canada and I’m scaling up. I secured a fulfillment spot in the U.S. to store and ship inventory directly to U.S. buyers.

I’m trying to stay compliant with eBay, but I’m hitting a wall with how eBay handles shipping and taxes for a Canadian account. If you’ve dealt with this, I’d love some insight.

First, what’s the move with Item Location? If I update the location on my listings to the correct U.S. ZIP code, will eBay’s bots flag me for misrepresentation because my account is registered in Canada? I want to be transparent, but I’m worried about an automated suspension.

Then there's the shipping policy mess. Since my account is Canadian, eBay defaults Domestic to Canada. If I use that for U.S. items, it shows as International Shipping, which kills conversions. Is there a way to create a U.S. Domestic shipping policy on a Canadian account, or am I stuck fighting the system?

Regarding tracking if I ship using a U.S. carrier (USPS/UPS) from that U.S. ZIP, does the tracking scan satisfy eBay’s requirement that the origin matches the listing location? Does the scan override the account registration country in their algorithm?

And the tax side what’s the actual tax obligation here? Since eBay handles sales tax collection for the buyer, do I have any other nexus or tax filing headaches in the U.S. if I’m just storing inventory there? Do I need a U.S. tax ID or any specific permits just to have stock sitting in a fulfillment center?

Finally, is it worth the headache of a second account? I have a long-standing Canadian account with great feedback and don't want to start from scratch. Is it possible to run a split operation listing Canada inventory on my main account and U.S. inventory on a U.S. registered one? Or should I just try to make it work on one account and hope the algorithm doesn't get cranky?

I’m planning to be transparent in my descriptions (Shipping from our U.S. hub for faster delivery), but I don't want to get my account nuked.

Has anyone done this at scale?

Why am i being overcharged ?

Hey everyone,
I’m a seller up here in Canada and I’ve been shipping to the US using FedEx labels bought through eBay. Lately, I’ve been getting hit with extra charges ($3-5) on pretty much every order after they’ve already been delivered.
I’m pretty meticulous about weighing and measuring my packages, so I’m confused about why this keeps happening. It’s definitely starting to eat into my profit margins.
Is anyone else dealing with this?
Are these just common "adjustment" fees that I can't avoid?
Is there a specific surcharge I should be looking out for?
Is it even worth trying to dispute these through eBay, or is it a waste of time?
Any advice or tips on how to stop these charges (or fight them) would be huge. Thanks!

I started my store on ebay and Poshmark back in October. Since then i have listed about 1500 items as of April 30th. i have been selling roughly 10% of my listed inventory every month doing about 4 to 5k last month in net revenue after fees and everything? are these numvers on track? im targetting 10000 listings by the end of year and 30k in net revenue. am i on the right track ? is it even possible ? supply is not an issue as i have good sourcing. I used to do wholesale orders from Pakistan so i know what to sell.
