Beloit (Marlins high-A) sold Wilson game-worn unis this year in their team store. The replica blanks offered for sale at the store before they transitioned to OT were the on-field model with the same fabric weight and cut but with retail sizing and labeling, something I appreciated. I've captured their home, road, alt, and alt 2 / BP here and added a few snaps of their alt blues for comparison.
In 2008 the University of Virginia wore an orange retro jersey against Richmond celebrating the early 90s teams. It was the first orange top they'd had in 15 years. I don't recall all the details, but they sold either a second set of these unis or the numbers that weren't actually dressed on-field through the athletics website.
Recently finished the cycle with each of the nine teams in different models.
One of the uniforms that got me into this hobby: In 1994 Virginia Tech wore both orange jerseys and pants in a loss to UVA and wouldn't don them again until fourteen years later in 2008. While reviewing some game footage I noticed that my line-cut jersey doesn't appear in any game footage from that season. Notably Tech's maroon home and white road garments were Russell and the Orange were Wilson, which they switched to in 1995. In 1995 there's plenty of footage showing Line-cut jerseys without sleeve stripes. Looking for groups or anyone with more info. These have fallen into obscurity a bit with time.
I recently started digging through my collection and I believe this was the first game-worn baseball set I purchased circa 2008. I was particularly fond of the detailing on the stylized "A" logo and found the block lettering of the road grays an interesting choice. The home and alt are 2005 and the road 2004 Wilson models.
I just wanted to share my excitement here after returning home from a great weekend. My spouse and I drove to the 1 August game from northern Illinois and it was my first trip to Ontario. I started following the Ticats in 2006 as they were geographically closest to where I lived in Virginia. Stepping onto the same parcel I had only seen on broadcats that was occupied by Ivor Wynne and now Hamilton Stadium was remarkable and the fans were outstanding. To boot, I dressed in all white, save a yellow belt and sported the now-referee cap I ordered from Honig's years ago. Cheers!
