This is Millie. She's so friendly and full of playful energy. She has an large, older male dog as a kennelmate and she absolutely loves to chase him around the yard (he's a good sport, thankfully). I'm pretty sure Millie is a heeler mix, not sure what other breeds she might have in her. I feel so bad that she's cooped up most of the day, so I get her out to play whenever I can. She's a great dog, lots of energy, but very trainable. If you want to visit her, she's located at Pinal County Animal Care and Control in Arizona.

I wish I could get a better action shot of him chasing it! He will do back flips and snatch it out of midair. It only takes like five to ten minutes of play before he's exhausted. He's learned that he can step on the lure when he needs a break and I won't be able to pull it away from him. Clever boy.

Ever since I adopted my cattledog from the shelter, I feel like I see so many of them there. Here's a new girl, not named yet. I got her out to play and she's super friendly, likes to jump up and try to kiss your face. Really sweet. She seems like she might like playing fetch once she's had a chance to decompress. Also the only obese cattledog I've seen! This is Max and he's pretty new at my shelter. I got him out for a walk today (just a short one since I wasn't sure how he'd do) and he loved it! He's a really nice guy, friendly and a very polite walker. He weighs over 100 pounds (his ideal weight is probably around 55). I really hope someone takes him on as a project dog, but until then I'll enjoy helping him with his weight loss and getting to know him. I love this little guy! He's now wiggly and excited to see me when I approach his kennel and he loves to come up for pets and cuddles. Very affectionate boy. He's such a nice walker, heels perfectly. We tried some fetch today, which he had a mild interest in. I think he will learn to like it once he's more comfortable. This is my little shelter buddy, Rory. He's at the point where he likes and trusts me, but he's still quite afraid of strangers and new places. He went up to the lobby last weekend to meet some potential adopters, but refused to enter the lobby and peed himself. So we've been working on going into the lobby and the meet and greet rooms early in the morning while it's quiet and he can sniff around and eat lots of high value treats. He's a very smart little guy and is making good progress.
