Billie Eilish came back on Instagram today with a photo dump and there was a very interesting picture she posted. She posted an old picture of her with blue hair and this picture could mean something very important. The last time she had posted that exact picture the very next day she announced her album was mastered and 2 months later announced HMHAS and the very same thing could happen again. Also another interesting detail this picture was the 6th picture on the slide and guess what tomorrow is October 6th and Billie could make an announcement tomorrow because that’s exactly what happened when Billie previously posted this blue haired picture and announced her album was mastered the following day. I really think we’re going to get a new album Q1 of 2027 it makes most sense because Billie previously said months ago that her album was halfway done and now I think it’s extremely close to be finishing based on previous timelines with Billie’s projects. Also if she doesn’t plan to go the same rollout route as HMHAS I could see her dropping a single possibly this month or November, but I’m not sure if she’s gonna drop a single or more before the album based on her previous album rollout. BE4 is coming!

I was just thinking about “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” today and I have to say this album is so well detailed, well thought out and beautifully cohesive that I could honestly write an entire essay about it, but here’s the parallel that I thought of recently. On “stupid song” Olivia says her lover was the “spark in the dark” and on “cigarette smoke” where we have Olivia’s lingering feelings of the regret for her relationship during the end of the album she wishes “the memories go dark” what once was her spark in the dark on her most in love song where she emphasizes that no song ever written can explain the feelings she has for her lover is now the spark that has turned to ash just like a cigarette and everything just turns dark. There’s just so many details and call backs on this album, Olivia’s storytelling and writing was at its absolute peak it’s little things like this that gives writing such value.

Remember when Abel teased this on Gene Hackerman? I don’t think he would do this for no reason especially now that we know we are getting a remastered version of Kiss Land. There might be other new and unreleased songs too like Heavenly Creatures, Enemy, Angel Face and others. I really wonder though how a remastered version of Kiss Land would be like. Would there be different production elements, different vocal takes, or even different track listing? I think mixing is 100% gonna be revamped though. This is a very interesting that Abel is doing and it’s also worth noting that even though the interview came out yesterday he said this while he was in middle of his shows in Paris which was in early July and he posted the For Your Eyes only teaser in I think April so this has definitely been in the works. I could see it releasing at some point this year before GTA6 because of Wanderlust being in the game.

Abel reposted tour pictures of him on a post by Apple. It’s interesting how a major company like Apple is posting photos of his tour I think this might have something to do with the documentary he’s been making. Apple Tesfaye might be back again lol.

With him bringing back the Kiss Land era with all the hints and now with >!Wanderlust in the new GTA!< we really might be getting some kind of Kiss Land sequel the hints and teasers are just too many to count and he chose to feature that song on the game for a reason. Also at one of his concerts last year at Miami he said how he wrote the Kiss Land title track at Miami and then said he was “foreshadowing something” so I really think this next era is going to be heavily inspired by Miami, Kiss Land and Japan.

This is based off what I heard so far and this could drastically change once the album releases. All the snippets are really good and I can’t wait to see how the complete tracks sound like especially “petal” I just know that’s going to be a career defining song. What would your ranking be so far?

Beyoncé just released a popular unreleased song of hers that went viral in like 2023 I believe, which was the same year Fantasize gained traction too. The song is now number 1 on the Pop charts on Apple Music and I can easily see the same happening if not more for Ari if she released Fantasize. I remember I saw like a google trends chart that showed that “Ariana Fantasize” had more search’s on google than “eternal sunshine” and “we can’t be friends” if someone has that please post it in the replies. Also if I remember correctly radio stations were somehow playing it too and it was one of the most Shazamed songs during its time and it also reached on to some global Spotify charts when someone uploaded the song on there. I know she said that Fantasize was made as a satirical song for a TV show, but we don’t even know which show it was for and whatever show it was never used it since it’s been 3 years by now so why can’t Ari just release it?

The melodies in this song are so catchy it’s crazy. Olivia’s ear for melody is so good and it really showed on this album and especially this song.

This is crazy considering we just had this album drop not even a week ago yet. I can see it dropping next year or 2028 max if she’s feeling really inspired and has a clear direction. I can see the themes being finding her true self, not being codependent anymore, finding more confidence in herself and trying to enjoy life more as a single woman being more carefree and loose. I think the narrative and sound is gonna be like “expectations” with a more upbeat and fun sound further diving into the classic 80s new wave sound with the themes of moving on from this long unhealthy relationship she had.

As I think most people have seen now, Abel pretty much confirmed he’s in the process of a new album right now after we found out what he said on the note that he gave to the Persona series games dev’s. He thanked them for inspiring him for his next album and I think this can gives us a big idea on the sound for the next album. Whether the Persona series has given him inspiration on the albums themes or overall sound is something we don’t know, but I think it’s both and the theory earlier made by u/shadylaundry was brilliant so shoutout to him, but I’m here to talk more about the albums sound. So as we know Abel has been in Japan on and off since like December of last year at this point now and has met with many and many Japanese creatives in the arts and with those he met sparked major inspiration in him and collaborative ideas. Now it’s time to talk about genres.

1. Acid Jazz: The Persona game that Abel played the most as shared on his IG stories was the 5th installment of the series and the genre that the soundtrack on the game focus’s on the most is Acid Jazz. Although there isn’t much reference tracks that can be made for Abel’s influence for Acid Jazz, songs like Out Of Time kinda come close because the chords really give a jazzy feel along with the drum grooves of the song. Another example could be the 2nd half of Given Up On Me with some pure R&B jazz soul. I really think that Abel is going to completely experiment and shake up his sound, we’ve seen him do it time and time again in his catalog from the groundbreaking HOB to the revival of 80s synth pop of After Hours and with him potentially dropping his The Weeknd persona gives him much more creative freedom and experimentation.

2. J Pop: I think this one is very self explanatory with the major Japanese influences that Abel has been hinting at and feeling for this project. Out Of Time is the key song here with the sample of Midnight Pretenders and I can see Abel diving in this sound further especially since on his tour he’s recently been using the actual Midnight Pretenders song before he sings Out Of Time and The Cruel Angel’s Thesis theme which I think is another hint at what’s to come.

3. Neo Soul: This is where I see reference tracks like I Can’t Wait To Get There and Here We Go Again for example. Neo Soul is a pretty popular genre in Japanese culture and I could potentially see Abel diving in this sound further.

4. Disco/funk pop: This is another genre that’s popular among Japanese culture, Persona soundtrack and Abel’s already familiarity of it. Songs like Wanderlust going back to the funky synth pop grooves from Kiss Land and the classic pop of In Your Eyes with some soul and jazz influence like the brass in the song.

5. Hip Hop: We already know Abel’s quite familiar with this genre, but I feel like we’ll see some rap/hip hop adjacent songs on this album due to the general public’s appeal of it with the success of Timeless and trying to recapture that moment. Also Abel said Miami gave him major inspiration too and that’s when he brought out Future so I think they may have recorded something together that night.

6. Alt Rock: This one may be a stretch, but Abel shared pictures of him in the studio with Susumu Hirasawa
   and he’s mainly known for electronic/rock. The Persona 5 and 4 soundtrack also have prominent Alt Rock music too and as we know Abel said that the Persona games inspired him for his next album. I can see him revisiting the sound like he attempted on the unreleased track Heavenly creatures. Like I said I think this will be his most experimental project yet as he’s detaching a lot of his known sound, but there’ll be glimmers of it like the final genre I’ll mention.

7. Electronic: There’s way too many Electronic tracks to go through as reference tracks, but you get the point. RIO already gave an idea of this sound with the electro Brazilian funk groove. Also since he’s been in the studio with Susumu Hirasawa who’s known for making experimental electronic music. I can see sounds kinda like Odd Look and Lost In The Fire.

Abel shedding the skin of The Weeknd will open new doors for creativity and experimentation with his sound like he has done multiple times already and I think he’s looking to do it again. Thanks for reading this if you made it this far I can’t wait for this album!

He’s been at Japan on and off since December of last year lol, when he isn’t touring Japan is his 2nd home. Also any XO’s also hyped for Olivia’s album this week? I know I am.

These musical inspirations for the albums sound is gonna be crazy. I would love to see her dive into the dark new wave synth pop/post punk like Depeche Mode and New Order. The production is gonna be insane and something completely different that we haven’t heard from her before. Also I can’t believe the album literally comes out next week like we’re here!

This is 99.9% accurate because this exact thing happened with drop dead a few days before release. The streaming services already have the data on the track if you look at the album on the laptop or PC version of Apple Music. I feel like this song is going be the song where we have the major tonal shift climax from the “girl so in love” side of the album into the “you seem pretty sad” side of the album since it’s track 8 too. I fear we aren’t gonna survive this track livies, it’s gonna be a wild emotional roller coaster.

I had a dream last night that Ariana announced the lead single to petal and she also dropped a teaser snippet of it and it was titled “continues” it sounded very electro pop and dark pop kinda like Slayyyters album WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA mixed with Daft Punk. After this dream I woke up and literally saw the video of Ari describing the album as “feral” and a fuck it type of vibe which actually makes this dream a lot more realistic lol let’s see if it comes true. I don’t remember any lyrics though lol it was also like a 15 second snippet.

There’s been a lot of discourse recently for Olivia’s new song debuted at SNL being “begged” and people are left wondering why the song has no bridge. Now we aren’t exactly 100% sure if the song has a bridge or not in the studio version and she could surprise us, but in the live performance there was none. Olivia’s known for writing many bridges in her songs and great ones at that, but knowing Olivia there’s most definitely a reason behind on there not being one and I think I have a theory for it. Before I give my reasoning I’m not saying every song must have a bridge, not every song needs one, but for the concept of this song a bridge missing works really well in concept in which I’m about to explain. The song “begged” is Olivia begging for her lover to be better and show true love and affection for her like she is to him, but she’s not receiving anything close to what she’s giving and just accepts the bare minimum because she really wants the relationship to work, but realizes it can’t work because she shouldn’t feel the need to beg for it. Now where the no bridge comes in is the overall concept of the song with Olivia not feeling complete which the song itself isn’t “complete” with the missing bridge so that when we listen to the song we feel Olivia’s feelings of begging for more during the song and her feelings of incompleteness. If this is truly intentional it’s so clever and her writing on the song overall is phenomenal with the lines like “I’m a penny in a fountain just waiting on my luck to change” is super clever filled with metaphors, personification and imagery. Overall Olivia really showcased her songwriting evolution with “begged” and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.

I don’t know why people are saying Europe is the last leg when he’s been constantly teasing an Asia tour and he said “where are we going next after Europe oh one more leg” during SYT. The album is definitely dropping after Europe leg with the hint of “Welcome To Tomorrow” which obviously takes place after Hurry Up Tomorrow.
