Caveat: this is entirely vibe coded and it was made for me, as existing options did not meet my needs fully. I had no intention of sharing it (which explains some of the quirks) but a friend suggested that I put it out there as open source so that others can build upon it.

So, I have been working on this for a few months (off and on) and initially it was just going to be a way to display on my fire TV what was currently playing on my WIIM device along with some minimal functionality. It escalated quickly from there. As noted above, this was designed solely for me and so, I have it only working with a local Plex Server* (hence another reason to open source) and some items are hard coded (there is a config file). My hope is that someone out there will find this useful as is and that others will vastly improve it. I should also note that this probably works on android TV but have not tested it.

*plex auth is available but not needed if your plex server has been configured to allow LAN access without auth (needed if you want to be able to use your plex server if your internet is down)

TL;DR: WyM TV turns a Fire TV Stick into a remote and browser for a WiiM audio device backed by a local Plex music library. The stick doesn't play the audio. It hands the WiiM a queue and the WiiM streams from Plex (closing the app does not interrupt music playing)

Picked this up yesterday and everything works except the lights. I did have to deoxit but that's par for the course. I might replace the filter caps. Not sure yet, on the fence since it is working and sounds great.

Now my question: did some research and this model and other Sensui models that are of this vintage and size, do not have a protection relay. They rely on a muting function that is supposed to mute pops and they also rely on fuses. From what I was reading that's not so great.

I did some other research and you can buy an external protection relay. They're about $150 or so and it protects your speakers (in this case nht 1.5s). Do I really need this or am I worrying too much?
