Tagging users that are away (maternity leave)

For users who are on "pause" due to things like maternity leave, are you tagging their user accounts? Sometimes we also have season workers where there's a good chance they'll be back in a couple months so we may not want to purge them either, trying to think of a good way to tag/document their accounts as a "do not purge".

No Sign in logs for OIDC app

This is a perplexing one. I have an OIDC app using Entra for SSO. Everything great, generally PRT even works. I looked at logs of most sign ins and there's -at least- one login in a given day for the app PRT or otherwise.

That said we have an issue where we did not see any logins for a particular user (there are logins but not say, in a given day). We noticed that we see a Windows Signin and MyApps signin (So browser opened), but no actual login for the app itself.

My thought was that maybe user was leaving laptop on/open/logged in 24/7, and just re-starting the session, but even then I tried it this morning with my own login and it still showed a login in Entra.

Anyone have any ideas why the logins wouldn't show in the logs?

Re-usable mounting location in drywall ceiling

Hey all, we have a lobby space that will have a completely closed-in drywall ceiling, no ceiling tile or drop ceiling. I want to mount a camera, and if possible, have some way the camera can later be replaced or serviced, but where it will need to go may be a location where I can't access it from above. Is there anything simliar to a low voltage mud ring where I can say, take down the camera to replace it where we wouldn't have to potentially patch screw holes on the ceiling every time?

Axis POE requirements

Working on resurrecting a camera system with older Axis Q3709-PVE cams. I have things working but I think these cams are only showing one sensor as im getting messages about poe+ or midspan.

As such I connected a Unifi POE+ 30w injector but no change on the camera front. Still getting warnings. Going by specs these should have worked.

Im only seeing settings for "right" channel.

Any ideas? Do I need an Axis injector?

As a side question, one cam needs to be reset and I couldnt get it to properly "factory reset", could that be because of power? If I hold down reset button i hear a faint "whine" noise and it just seems to reboot.

Cashapp@okta.com?

We recently cancelled our OKTA sub and I'm getting a notice from "cashapp@okta.com"; I plan to reach out to OKTA as well, but figured I'd ask here as this is suspicious, and in looking at the form they sent, its asking for banking info which obviously we're not doing. Anyone experience this with OKTA?

This weekend: Museum Ships Weekend

This weekend (technically starts Friday) is Museum Ships Weekend! See how many museum ships you can work. Think Battleships, Subs, and even "memorial" stations. Better yet, if you have a ship nearby, reach out to their amateur radio if there is one, and see if they need ops! For more info check out https://nj2bb.org/museum

Modern futurism

Me and a friend were chatting about various retro-futurism themes over the various decades, and a question came up: whats modern futurism? What are we looking forward to (if anything?).

Move UPS or buy new

Office is moving into a new building, and I need to sort our power for server room. Our server room is essentially an MDF, it will barely have much in the way of servers (maybe 1-2 small VM hosts), but will host a handful of switches, internet gear, routers, fiber gear, and a handful of access points.

We currently have an older APC Symmetra 16KVA unit that has had new modules and batteries replaced over the years, however I feel like it might be overkill at this point, but offers the ability of good runtime. It also has a hard-wired 100amp circuit. The chassis is from 2008, but batteries, controller, and I think most if not all inverters have been replaced since then.

Note that the new server room would only handle half the building's infra, there would be a seperate IDF where I think a majority of the switching would live.

Better to buy new or possibly move this thing? Opinions?

Running into this in a few places where an app (website) uses Entra External ID for signin. The problem I run into is where that site has an intermediate "sign in" button screen usually with a disclaimer, that you have to click to get to the actual login page. The login page URL usually looks like it might have a token or unique GUID in the url that means I can't re-use that URL for the Myapps link, but I'm trying to skip past the login button screen. Is there any way to determine that login button URL? Its all a script so nothing in the web site source naturally.
