Any barber recommendations for an older child with sensory processing challenges?

Looking for barber recommendations for my 13-year-old son who has sensory processing challenges. His skin is extremely sensitive, and even a tiny hair clipping landing on him is very distressing.

We’re hoping to find someone who is patient, kind, and understanding.

Of course we’re happy to pay whatever is necessary.

Thank you!

Heads-up for anyone hiking solo at Starkey Hill

Just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone who hikes alone at Starkey Hill.

I was there hiking solo, as I often do, and had an encounter that left me genuinely unsettled.

About halfway through the trail, a man was approaching from the opposite direction. It was hot out (felt close to 30°) but he was wearing jeans and a hoodie with the hood up. I gave a friendly smile like I normally do when passing people on the trail, but he didn’t respond at all. He kind of looked straight through me, and he was repeatedly crunching an empty water bottle in his hand.

After I passed him, something just felt off. I turned off my AirPods so I could hear my surroundings better without making it obvious I was paying attention. About a minute later, I heard the water bottle crunching again and realized the man had turned around and was now following me.

I picked up my pace, and so did he.

At that point I stopped walking and started running. I lost track of him once I hit the open field area, and I made it back to the parking lot safely.

Maybe it was nothing. Maybe it wasn’t. But I’d rather sound overly cautious than say nothing at all. I’m not accusing anyone of a crime — just sharing an experience that genuinely made me feel unsafe.

If you hike alone, please stay aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts if something feels wrong.

Stay safe out there.

Edit: Forgot to include — I did report the incident to the police.

What thank you gift would mechanics actually appreciate?

My parents’ mechanic shop recently helped me out in a pinch and didn’t charge me. I really appreciated it and want to send something to the shop as a thank you.

What would you guys genuinely appreciate most? Pizza? Coffee/donuts? Something else?

Appreciate your input. Thank you!
